Why wasn't Lebron James asked about Jerry Jones?
Perhaps because it's a different sport. Or that the photo was from 1957. Or that Jones was a kid. Or that the details of Jones involvement are unclear.

Could it be one of these reasons?
How could we test this? If only there was a case of an owner in Lebron's sport, as an adult, in a current racial controversy, where the facts were clear. Would Lebron be asked about that story?

Quick rant on baseball, vaccine policy, and the Canadian government. Canada implemented a travel vaccine mandate, meaning the Blue Jays couldn’t have any unvaccinated players on their roster, or they would miss all of their home games.

Just finished the Lakers HBO series. It’s well done, though I can see why Jerry West was pissed. But the guy who really gets screwed is Paul Westhead. One of the greatest innovators in the history of basketball is treated like a no-nothing dolt. Totally ridiculous. Westhead lost the MVP of the league in the middle of the NBA finals as a rookie coach, and won the title by putting his rookie point guard at center (who then had 42 pts, 15 rebs, and 7 ast). Arguably, one of the ballsiest decisions in the history of the NBA.

What do Americans really believe about abortion? People like Elizabeth Warren keep trotting out this idea that 70% don't want Roe v Wade overturned. She knows, of course, that people don't know what that means.

1/
So, who is closer to the mainstream?

The democrat position, as articulated by Tim Ryan, a "moderate" candidate hand picked to run in a red state:

BAIER: ...any limits to abortion at any point. Late-term, anything?
TIM RYAN: Look, you got to leave it up to the woman. 2/

Here's another tidbit from the @libsoftiktok story that you may have missed. When describing the account and its earlier commentary the @washingtonpost says it "promoted a dubious story about a child sex trafficking ring." What comes to mind? Pizzagate? Q-Anon? But...no. 1/ To support this claim, they link to this tweet that she posted in 2020, in which she simply links to an actual bust by Florida authorities of nearly 200 people, as reported in the @nypost 2/

Judging by the way the media talks about it, I think most people would be surprised that Israel and Sweden have essentially the same percentage of their population vaccinated. A lot of this comes from the media setting narratives in concrete and then never checking them again, especially when they can be used to justify new restrictions. Ie, Israel is not "ultra vaxxed." They have fallen far behind other countries.

The media keeps reporting "only 26%" of the country is vaccinated. While technically true, it's only true if you include kids (who are not eligible for the vaccine), and if you don't include people who have already received one shot. 1/ Most of those people will be getting their 2nd shot eventually (obviously), some already have, and even if they never do, the protection from one shot is more effective than we would have dreamed any vaccine could be a year ago. 2/

A thread on this viral map, which attempts to paint a very scary picture: depending on where you live, it is almost certain someone at your Thanksgiving gathering will have COVID. Look at all that red! But, the map has massive problems. 1/ The map comes from the Washington Post, but it is based on the COVID-19 Event Risk Assessment Planning tool from GA Tech. The goal of which is to show what the chances are of having a COVID positive person attend a gathering. A worthwhile project. covid19risk.biosci.gatech.edu 2/
