We need to kill the "traditional vaccine" myth!

First vaccine was a completely different but related virus, cowpox, which provided protection against small pox. It wasn't attenuated, it just didn't cause a severe disease in most humans. Hepatitis B vaccine is a "subunit" which is scientific jargon for a part of the virus. It is made by inserting genetic material into yeast cells. No virus is involved in the process. It is safer that way!

Tetanus vaccine is an inactivated toxin or toxoid.

mRNA, vaccine or otherwise, is incapable of interfering with your genetics. Here's how (1/n) Your immune system recognizes foreign molecules called anitgens (Ag) and gets activated. (In autoimmune diseases, your immune system confuses your own Ag). Ag are usually proteins, although long chains of sugar molecules (polysaccharides) and DNA can also act as Ag. (2/n)

SARS-CoV-2 from a virolgist's perspectivd...

It came from bats. It's true. At least, genetic analysis suggests that. All the other 6 human coronaviruses did too. In fact most "novel" or emerging viruses come from ANIMALS. They are called zoonoses. (1) It can happen anywhere, in villages, on farms, and also in cities.

In some cases viruses you can only get the infection from animals and cannot spread to other humans. Easy to control. But in some others, person to person spread happens. That's what happens with CoVs. (2)

@FMF_tw_official LOL.. Hello Mr. Logical Fallacy. Only because A (women scholars) was true, doesn't mean B (Sati) was false. Sati finds mention in the literature way before the British came to India. @FMF_tw_official There are records of several aristocratic women going sati including the likes Ramabai Peshwa, who was married into one of the most powerful empires of India (the Maratha empire).
