@owenbroadcast Been speculating about this recently. Part 1 starts here:

and ends here:

Image @owenbroadcast Mormonism seems like a kind of half-measure - An attempt to resolve a post-scientific revolution covenant while still anchoring faith back to ancient authority.

Iron Liberalism - The true Hegelian synthesis ideology will be that of enforced freedom.

No, I am not kidding.

Yes, this will be you one day.

1/ The great sweep of human development has been driven by two forces:

1) Most people are stupid and short-sighted.
2) It does you little good to be smart or prudent in a vacuum.

@hradzka, though he means well, is comprehensively off-base with his organizing takes.

Political order is downstream of the basic struggle of life against entropy, and will only ever be a summary of the lifeways which sustain those who constitute the state and the nation. Leftists are good at doing the things leftists do (demonstrations, GOTV, activist development) because those are the things that lead to the kind of political order leftists prefer (interventionist bureaucracies obsessed with PR).

"Bringing Democracy to Afghanistan didn't work."

Ok, so what went wrong?

I'm going to do a little primer on the nature, purpose, and proper use of democracy.

Democracy is not a form of government. It is not an institution. Voting is not a human right.

Democracy is a method for peaceful iterated decision making among groups of people, that is all.

If you go to college for "whatever", you are planning on being some sort of bureaucrat.

thebellows.org/against-the-ma… If you don't have a plan to produce more than you consume, you are planning on stealing from others.

[Transcribed thread describing how the boundaries of what I am calling "castes" might be defined, how they might arise, and the relationship of "caste" to "class"] 2/
We can define the boundaries of a type/class/caste by a discontinuity in how it is perceived by insiders versus outsiders.

I'm not against the death penalty in principle, but why is the process of executing someone so prolonged and arbitrary that this story is plausible? Saving capital punishment for low-frequency high depravity crimes seems like exactly the wrong approach.

Just when the blinding moral outrage and political pressure is highest, the state grabs the first likely-seeming suspect and nails them hard.

[Transcribed thread justifying the proposition that real physical class/caste distinctions exist among humans] 2/14
Functional human equality is improbable. I think it's relatively safe to assume that human classes and the lineages they are comprised of are at least as adapted to their social, technological, and historical settings as landrace dog breeds.
