Today is the cenntenial of the #TulsaRaceMassacre as well as Memorial Day. Massacre survivor Hughes Van Ellis or ‘Uncle Redd’ was honored at standpipe hill, where Black business owners fought for their lives. Uncle Redd served in WWII in what was then a segregated army. Image The event paid remembrance to those lost in the massacre - known and unknown. Members of the community gathered dirt from the hill to represent the lives of those lost #TulsaRaceMassacre #BlackWallStreetLegacyFest
