are you crazy?
which kind of "kid" do you mean?
until i was 6 we had three rooms in the house, living room, kitchen, bedroom where i slept with parents
toilet was outside in the hut where it was cold and where i was always afraid to fall down into the place you ABSOLUTELY don't want to fall down into (donald? you do don't you?)
then when i was six we added two rooms by integrating the animal kitchen and splitting the bedroom in two to have an indoor bathroom with toilet
so the former animal kitchen became the new parent's bedroom, i was left alone in the old one (happy) which was diminuished in size by splitting off a room for toilet and bathtub and washing place
i remember vividly when i was six years where i woke up because the parents in the middle of the night transported a huge garderobe from their old bedroom into their new one
i don't know why they did it in the middle of the night perhaps because there was so much work then in the country, dad worked from monday morning to saturday evening relentlessly only sunday was free then
also school was from monday to saturday (noon) then now those softies have saturday off and maybe later friday off also and one day finally whole week off
ok so that was kid till age of six, so phone was in living room and only mom and dad were allowed to lift it and say luckerbauer into the mike
that was when i was young but when mom was young it was quite weird
we had four telephones in the village, postal office, township village authority, the factory (cardboard factory SAMSUN), and our house, because grandpa was THE electrician there and wanted his own phone
when somebody from outside the village called our village all four phones chimed at the same time, and in those four most important places of the village everyone got on high alert
if it chimed once it was for the postal office
if it chimed twice it was for the municipal authority
if it chimed thrice it was for the factory
and if it chimed four times it was for US
i guess @sama we should implement that system again nowadays with all those phones everyone has
sorry my questioneer i forgot the question what was it that you wanted to know?
@theamelia__ mom was born 1940 so this was early fifties later they abandoned that system for obvious reasons
