One of the basic questions you can ask when eval’ing a design is “is this a one-way door or two-way door?” What does this mean?

A one-way door only allows travel through it in one direction. It is designed to prevent someone from coming back through it.

A two-way door allows bi-directional travel. You can easily enter; you can easily leave.
