So many of America’s crises have been laid bare in the tragedies in Boulder and Atlanta: our gun crisis, our mental health crisis, and systemic racism. My heart goes out to all the victims and their families who lost a loved one yesterday

We can and must do better. This country makes it easier for someone to get an assault rifle than access to mental health services. Ten lives were stolen before the police were able to arrest the gunman, and at that time, they did not know his name or religion but only the color of his skin.
