Marks' approach to value investing is centered around the concept of “second-level thinking,” which means that investors should think differently than the market and look for opportunities where others do not.

He runs Oaktree Capital Management which had an AUM of $164B in 2022.

I read "Best Loser Wins" by Tom Hougaard so you don't have to.

I'll share some interesting excerpts, personal takeaways, and thoughts on how they apply to the crypto markets. The book focuses on the fact that in markets, 90% of traders lose money. So the author says, "Why don't we study what errors the 90% makes, and do the opposite?"

This is of course easier said than done. But let me dive deeper from quotes in the book.

To understand why, let's understand what catalyzed and ended the DeFi bull market in the first place: zero interest rates.

TradFi yields in 2020 were so low that capital found their way on-chain to seek higher yield opportunities.

I get that none of the fees goes to tokenholders (yet) but you have to admit that it won't be long until these "DeFi Dinos" to one day have value accrual...
