My diskhorse take: I am equal parts content warnings are great for giving agency over what kinds of stories we consume and indie and/or queer content is overly & radically moral-policed and learning how to process discomfort or being triggered without making it A Thing is healthy
I am sympathetic to content being darker than anticipated or a theme/story hitting too close to uncomfortable topics but being Black my cultural experience has given me the tools to process & respond to (most) upsetting stuff because it's all around us re: race ALL the time.

i'm watching the windsey ewis video so you don't have to
finding the good points in this video is like trying to eat m&ms out of trail mix like yeah they're there but they're covered in salt and nut residue and therefore Not Good

When it comes to Black icons/culture/issues, I will never apologize for asking non-Black people to give Black folks the space to process/express themselves first. We are hardly ever given the opportunity to do so without others talking over us or for us or shifting focus to them.
I'm not going to spend time & energy explaining why this is relevant to the loss of a black actor who starred in films largely about & for Black culture. 2020 has been Black people trying to explain WHY something is important to us only for non-Black folks to get angry about it.

Hey non-black artists before you even think about it how about you don't draw Black Panther art for in memoriam clout not saying you can't grieve but consider giving that space of expression to Black people first
There is plenty of content and imagery of Chadwick and his characters and stories to consume. RT it. Post gifs and movie stills. But we don't need your stylized grief or vision of a man who portrayed mostly Black characters iconic to Black people. Let the focus be on him and us.

LoL: Maybe if we release a cool K-Pop style video with sexy girls radiating gay energy and a cute quirky lesbian champion everyone will forget we are actually really shitty to women and are in the middle of a lawsuit because of that
League of Legends is actually trash please do not support them with your dollars kotaku.com/current-and-fo…
