Harris has released an “issues” section on her site, and noticeably, Harris’s policies aren’t that distinct from Trump’s. These comparisons for readers to make are easy, since she links 2025 agenda under each “issue” area (that are mostly copied and pasted from Biden’s site) The same “tough on borders” nonsense, same “tough on crime, fund police and give them training” nonsense, positions “Israel” as the US only ally against China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran, and will give people $25k (>3%) for home down payments as the housing market is 🗑️💸

Spontaneous organizing is liberal + easily lends itself to liberal “reform.”

I hope that now permanent organizing structures are being built to confront settler-colonialism + imperialism; & that combat western propaganda + the neo-colonial governances it supports elsewhere. I’m putting this out there since sometimes I roll my eyes by how easily people, even in this moment, continue to be shaded by propaganda —1st still as it regards Haiti and most recently, Iran.

Questioning western propaganda, pro-imperial propaganda, requires fuller reflections

Haiti and Cuba and Grenada are all informative cases of revolution in the Caribbean.

1: Haiti had a successful revolution that effectively abolished slavery on the island, but eventually was unable to consolidate itself — which opened it up to occupation + imperial aggression. Given that history — of a revolution arising out of a slave context — the consciousness of the masses in Haiti have always been extremely clear in their suspicion + contempt of foreign aggression, occupations, etc. that undermines their liberty (incl PAYING FORMER SLAVERS!)

Just spoke with @tenementyaad_ about the crisis of imperialism on South America’s Caribbean coast and they asked a great question I’ll share my response here:

Q: On other platforms, you have referred to Venezuela’s actions as chauvinistic, could you elaborate? A: I opted for the word chauvinism instead of imperialism or colonial expansion – which is how many in the Guyanese left have described Venezuela’s actions over the past month, given that I understood Venezuela’s tangible security concerns. I did research on why Guyanese Marxist-

All 11 Universities in Gaza have been bombed by Israel. This number surpassed 10 yesterday, when Israel targeted and bombed Al-Azhar University. In total, 19 higher education orgs have suspended educational processes in Gaza depriving 88,000+ students their right to education. This deprivation is linked to the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Outside of Gaza, Israel has targeted and damaged 2 institutions of higher education in the West Bank since October 7th. Prior to 10/7, Israel demolished 20 schools in occupied East Jerusalem and West Bank.

Settler colonialism is a structure that is predicated on genocidal violence towards the indigenous groups whose lands the settler aims to co-opt as its own. Given such a mandate, settler colonialism relies on the dehumanization of the indigenous population to justify both the genocide of, and displacement of, said population. Israel’s incessant bombing of Palestine alongside the denial of food, water, electricity, and medicine in Gaza – follows the settler colonial logics of its existence.

Less “US is sending X more millions to Ukraine ignoring American workers, Americans impacted by toxic chemicals, etc”

More: US is supporting capitalists & its strategic interests via a military outpost (this time) in Ukraine (which always ignores people, workers, environment). Pitting support for one thing against the other positions them on even playing fields — when capitalism and militarism encourages (or denies) importance to people centered anything’s. So capitalists and politicians supporting militarism aren’t suaded by calls for humanity or care

Tweets like this are dumb.

1: Haitians have consistently been protesting puppetry + intervention

2: Groups like @Blacks4Peace + news (@HoodCommunist) have been vocal about above + extending solidarity

3: Western mainstream media has been vocal in calls for Haiti intervention. In order to believe that it is being ignored, would mean that you refuse to see ongoing black protests in (1), refuse to engage with people that have long been in solidarity with and raising alarm bells in (2), and ignored MSM— like this literally by WAPO editorial team: Image

I don’t want to see any purely economistic explanations or analysis for the “rise of fascism” in Europe — or in Anglo-settler states — because these explanations assume people “become” fascist with economic decline. To have this assumption, you would need to ignore the majority of the people in the world that aren’t in European or in Anglo-settler states. This buys into fascist ideologies which aim to render people (like me in their own countries too) in other places invisible, yet somehow causing problems to their own economic existence.

How some things don’t change: “Therefore, if torn between a damaging public condemnation of capitalist United States and a principled stand in support of socialist Cuba or revolutionary Nicaragua, Canada’s political and economic well-being dictates the use of tact and diplomacy.” “In other words, ideological considerations come to the fore, and a condemnation turns either into a mild “exchange” between foreign ministers, or a particular handling of an incident never does become public. Compare the Canadian government’s open outcry against the Soviet”

Communism and nazism are not the same— the former eradicating the latter. The reason liberals tend to make these equivocating comparisons of the two, is to provide some distance with their appreciation of nazism, given that they’ve vilified communism, to make a “condemnation.” Anyone who compares the two, while ignoring that nazism and capitalism will remain the entities that have killed and will continue to kill the most people until they’re defeated, only does so because it’s not 100% acceptable to say they appreciate nazism (thus hate communism).

I’ve been seeing #Swedengate and have enjoyed that it’s allowed others to share — and the info be received — that Sweden (as other Nordic European countries) have racist colonial histories that persist.

I saw a response saying: “we give billions in aid to poor countries”

and… “What happens in aid is similar to what happens in military expenditure. When the govt. spends on national defense, most of the money stays in the [country] to pay wages and purchase equipment, supplies, and services; in this way the defense budget helps stimulate the economy…”

Anytime an oppressing force is advocating for “depoliticization” of any particular issue, it is always the case thah they’re making the claim that their stance on the issue is the “objective” one/fact.

It shouldn’t be seen as wrong to acknowledge something as “political” Was having this conversation this morning, in relation to something as simple as funding — where STEM fields are getting $$$ in comparison to social sciences, given “objectivity” (apparently) in STEM analysis and that’s nonsense.

Reparations talk in USA is always limited, due to the intentional severing of Black internationalist thought by US state agencies + US liberal “inclusion” project of integration, assimilation, & representation of African Americans in US project— at expense of Black solidarity. The only reason you can have a reactionary ahistorical US ADOS project, is due to broader US propaganda that exceptionalism’s the AA experience, negating that the Trans-Atlantic slave trade took place in the Western Hemisphere — uncle throughout the Americas and the Caribbean —

Since imperialism is en vogue:

1) of the 8 French colonies in the Caribbean only three are independent — Haiti, Dominica, St. Lucia

2) of the 7 Dutch colonies in the Caribbean, none are independent.

French & Dutch imperialism have always established themselves to be long lasting and their propaganda campaigns in the Caribbean strong (via leveraging passport prívele he to dissuade referendum & other votes on independence). Geographically their colonies in the Caribbean serve as extraction + security sites aiding US imperialism in Cent + South Am

10k+ likes, former US ambassador to Russia & current PoliSci prof.

I’ll keep saying it: too many in Anglo world (esp USA) don’t view Russians as people deserving of rights. We know when they securitise people this way they’re priming to justify any and all violence towards them. This is the same type of terroristic rhetoric that justifies bombing and droning in the Middle East and in Africa; the same type of rhetoric that has people in the Anglo world turn a blind eye to Western military operations with civilian death rates exceeding 90% in those places Image

It’s dehumanising when western media + tech label journalism from states they dislike as “state affiliated” — to signal it’s *automatically* propaganda— because they’re declaring people in these states as incapable of critical thinking, research, investigation, and writing. They also do this, even though mass amounts of research exist showing that investigative journalism and informative journalism, are on the decline — and have been for decades — in their own states. Research showing Western media fooling + lying populations into wars, etc.

Racism as Russian (and in the past,
USSR) disinfo is probably one of the more sinister weaponisations of racism that reoccurs every time a geopolitical situation with Russia (@ prev USSR) and the West is being had. The goal is (and has always been) to stop connections made between racism & broader anti-war and anti-colonial struggles.

It’s very hard to not be condescending towards ppl gleefully sharing — earlier on during COVID-19 — videos of anti-Black racism in China against African migrants, now saying racism isn’t happening @ European borders

HILARIOUS: Some people are trying to distinguish between oligarchs — as a *uniquely* Russian phenomenon — and US billionaires, who are somehow “better than” oligarchs because apparently the US is a country where wealth doesn’t influence policy agenda and actual policies 🙃 Russian oligarchs and US billionaires apparently aren’t wealthy for the same reasons, so US billionaires are automatically righteous “just because.”

Loud and proud about contributing to current distortions that have tangibly hampered “progressivism” in the US isn’t actually a line I’m willing to hold given constant liberal revisionism and co-operation.

As a political science professor as well, it’s a shame how many don’t see that their contribution to public knowledge, includes informing the persisting misinformation that exists.

There was a tweet earlier that said:

“I’m actually racist and an academic in this field ⬇️🧵"

To show how I useful some of the current academic discourse is, and

I keep seeing people who favor sanctions & changed political preferences via wars constantly say that after their achieved ends are met, people in X place will be “better off.”

This is a lie and will always be a lie under white supremacist capitalism (western liberal systems). Once they achieve their corporate ends, people will be worse off and poverty will skyrocket, as for the next couple of decades thereafter the people in X place are made to subsidize the violence that happened against them & led to mass death of people like them.
