If I had a € for every man who has commented "She must have a lot of time on her hands" under an article about me.
I've NEVER seen this comment directed at a man undertaking a sporting or artistic activity. Imagine if women commented this under every pic of a man playing sports?
Firstly, I am a self employed lone parent. I have worked for 2 whole years with not one holiday. Many of those weeks I worked 7 days a week, some weeks I worked 60hrs a week at my paid job PLUS my parenting work! I was so, so fucking tired that I decided to take January off

My style challenge for Jan is to dress inspired by something in my house each day. Today it's sink unblocker.
Day 2 of dressing like things in my house. I'm dressed as a tin of Quality Street 🍬

One of my cis kids wanted to be a dog for about a year. She wore a dog costume all the time at home and she would go about on all fours. I let her be a dog as much as she wanted.
The difference between a kid playacting to be an animal/superhero/insert transphobes' choice of inanimate object - and a trans child insisting they are a different gender to the one their parents assumed them to be - SHOULD be obvious - but as this argument is one I hear often

If you want to be REALLY scared this Halloween here's a list of Most Horrifying Things:
1. In 2019 & against medical best practice, Ireland introduced misogyny -motivated legislation to force women to wait 3 days for an abortion.
2. Most train stations in Ireland can not be accessed by people with disabilities and many people with disabilities who live rurally have no public transport they can use.

I love my trans kid for the exact same reasons I love my cis kids.
Why would what name she wants to be called change the love I have for her?
Why would pronouns affect my love?
Why would what gender she identifies with change my heart's knowing?
All those things are irrelevant.
I realised within hours that I have very little attachment to what gender my kids are.
It isn't important to me.
I didn't have a boy's life mapped out for her, I just want her to be happy. I find other parents attachment to the gender of their kids to be a bit alarming.

One of my teen's friends was beaten so badly last night that he was pronounced dead before doctors were able to revive him. Both boys are 17. The boy who did it was jealous that my kid's friend was dating his ex girlfriend
THIS is what we mean when we talk about toxic masculinity
That boy thought he owned his ex girlfriend. He thought he could almost kill the next boy she dated.
We need to do better with raising boys. This form of Patriarchy can kill. It could have been his ex he attacked, but the gender of the victim is immaterial.

My daughter told me when she was 5 that she was a girl. I didn't know how long it would last but I had to face the idea that she might actually BE a girl and that if so, her future would be much more difficult than what I would ever choose for her.
Not knowing what to do other than love & support my child, I contacted our Dr & @TENI_Tweets They said don't encourage or discourage, just support her & be lead by her. I was told that trans kids are persistent, consistent & insistent about who they are.

When I was 16 my best mate was raped by another friend of ours. She left his house & came straight to my place, I saw the bruises and marks on her body & held her as she sobbed. No one had ever prepared me for how to support a rape victim.
Back then I believed in justice & to my shame I convinced her to report it to the cops. I went with her. 3 YEARS later I testified in court on her behalf. In that time she had been ostrasized, spat on & had WHORE written on her locker at school.
