A whole slew of Lancet kamikaze drone strikes on M777 got released the past two days, so I shall be posting them in this little thread.

I dont think the arena in Druzhivka was the target of the Russian strike. That industrial yard is massive, as are the warehouses there. And it has its own rail station with marshalling yard.

Perfect place to store high value assets. ImageImage A journalist from Bild in the area also reported nine impacts. That would definitely make sense with the industrial yard being hit. ImageImage

Now as a pallet cleanser after all that silliness.

A small thread of some Russian field cooking.

Yesterday DPR Joker gave us this message about an older video where a Ukrainian soldier shows off their modern digital maps and mocks the Russians for not having something similar. Video for context.

It is a fully networked map that ties into NATO ISR to allow all Ukrainian units connected to the network to track the position of their own units and Russian units.

Ukrainians made an attempt at the Beryslav direction in Kherson again. They came under Russian fire and retreated. Two of the T-72M1 tanks were abandoned.
Here a drone tries to drop a grenade through an open hatch.

Users at Lost Armour made a map of the various attacks Ukraine attempted at the Donetsk airport in the past week alone.

Translation of post included.

Another Lost Armour W ImageImage No surprise that after all these failed attacks out of the town, it has now been abandoned by the Ukrainians as DPR forces approached.

Ukrainians ride across a field in Davydov Brod, firing indiscriminately. They then hit a mine and come under fire by Russian forces.

1/3 They have to leave their damaged equipment behind as they come under fire.

Now I wish I saved that image of the AHS Krab that hat shot off its own barrel.

This incident totally makes sense by the way. I shall explain in a few tweets 🧵 The AHS Krab is the British AS-90 Braveheart turret on a South Korean K9 chassis produced in Poland.

Britain didnt adopt the Braveheart turret because the gun wasn't compliant with your standard NATO charges. This is most likely due to having a larger chamber for more charges.

Been seeing this footage a lot. But it is not Russians and Ukrainians running into one another as claimed, but rather Ukrainians on the retreat.

Let us do a short little thread 🧵 as to why: First off, all the sounds on the video are fake. That already should have you taking notice. Videos with shitty audio get uploaded all the time, why not this one?

Well it'd look odd if they cut out the screaming of the Ukrainian tank commander but left the rest in.

So I had a normie link me this so I had to go do a little dig through. It all stems from this video from Rybar in the Masno tweet.

With news quoting "experts" (It's actually just one guy with a conflict analysis firm) saying the video shows the equipment that protects nukes heading towards the frontline.

Leonic Volkov, the chief of staff for Navalny the failed pro-Western politician made a "viral thread"

He has over 300k followers and can only manage 2k retweets on the Russian one, and 10k on the English one

I have stronger engagement than that with my measly account

1/n This man clearly never studied military history or served, since using your superior firepower to destroy the enemy before engaging him is the name of the game

Also Putin passed a law giving mercenaries and LDPR soldiers the same status as veterans for this war.

I can't believe it.

We finally got some clear tank combat footage from the war. And it is exactly like goddamn War Thunder.

Knife range and some mouth breather doesn't open fire at an enemy that presents it's to him as they come around the corner. So what is going on is the Russian tanks are clearing the treeline and as they come out, there is a Ukrainian tank reversing and an APC running away.

Lead Russian tank keeps aim at the Ukrainian tank that just watches how the second and third tank finish off his APC.

Time to analyze another news article. This one with a title seeming to be aimed straight at me. I did say they needed to end this war by August or something. Yes liberating one of the provinces of a foreign country is totally not a strategic goal. Scream it as much s you want, but it is.

Advances also seem to be accelerating, but we'll see how long that pace holds up.

And now it's time for the lessons learned. According to the Wall Street Journal.

Let us see how wrong they get it! I highlighted the key lesson of this war. But almost everyone ignores it because logistics isn't sexy. It's the shooty pew pew stuff.

Also General Patrick Sanders is wrong to say Britain has learned or adapted from this war. Since it has changed nothing about its pre-war plans.

Let us have a look at some of the cope written about the entirety of Luhansk being liberated.

This one is from the BBC. Hey looks prudence.

Interestingly Russians have noted that Lisichiansk was full of prepared defenses, like roadblocks and trench lines. So it is clear the pullout was a last minute decision.

Mutual @Nikol_ovich came across this article that was written for a West Point (US Officer school) of all places.

Let's take a gander shall we.

mwi.usma.edu/time-is-not-on… God I hate gonzo journalism. But at least Gonzo Journalism is a subtle admittance by the writer that he isn't objective at all.

Anyway a majority of frontline men (including special forces) having no weapons training is not an army.

Yeah no big surprise there. But let us take a closer look at what is being said.

economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/u… High tech equipment is fine as long as you have the vast logistical system behind it to keep it running. This is an argument I have made before.

Ukraine even in peacetime didn't have the logistics to maintain these arms, and wartime only made it worse. Image

Colonel Cassad quoting a pro-Ukrainian source stating that only about a third of the delivered M777 are still operational now.

I suspect that about half the losses are due to enemy action and are permanently out of action, with the other half being damaged from use. Image Western weapons may work well with a Western logistical and equipment support system behind it. But if the weapon starts falling apart rapidly without it, it is simply not worth it as a proper weapon of war if you ask me.

This is a really good piece and addresses an issue I have been banging on about for about a decade.

Namely that not only do we lack the stockpiles to fight a proper war. We lack the industry to sustain it.

I'll go over it in a thread as usual

rusi.org/explore-our-re… This section's title is great and the question posed rather ominous.

His figures for fighting forces are a fair bit off but none of that matters.

Also gotta love the little mention of Ukraine's few attempted raids that accomplished no appreciable damage to the war effort.

Oh this is bound to be good! I am amazed by the ability to call the loss of strategic city and yet again the encirclement of some 2500 Ukrainian soldiers and foreign volunteers a loss somehow. But let us see.
