This has been the story from the jump -- state agencies have not been doing their due diligence to follow up, and all three major stories of the last year are a result. But that isn't the spin. The spin is that it's a failure of the homeschooling families. Which, as I said the other day, is true enough. But *why are state agencies not being held accountable?* *That's* why homeschool families are being defensive.

Expecting an uptick in the worst stories about homeschooling families. WCHS has two stories under their "homeschooled" tag. The death of Kyneddi Miller, and this one. Both of these were written by Leslie Rubin - not sure what to make of that.

🧵 Thinking the last couple of days about how I am often tempted to reduce Christianity to a series of propositions and ideas and forget that it's actually about a Person; a Person Who is active in the world and invites others to come to Him. 1/ It then follows that we (I) shouldn't be inviting people to a set of doctrine and principles *primarily* but to the Person of Jesus. "What you wear actually matters" is a hill I will absolutely die on.

It's simply irrefutable. We don't want it to be true. Even dressing in business casual feels "stuffy" and we are a culture obsessed with comfort. We are also a culture obsessed with self expression and individualism, so the idea of social decorum in our dress grates against us.

But we can't escape it.
