I’d like to use this moment to share another type of equity that employers are able to offer, and yet divides our experiences greatly.
How they respond to burnout.
This is not in defense of any company. It is an example of treatment that everyone should be able to receive.
Burnout can happen for any reason, but the environment and available support, as well as feeling like you are safe and have control in your situation are also huge factors. Sometimes it’s just the realities of working life taking its toll.

“I’ve an idea for a game, I just need a team of programmers and artists” is in essence no different than “I have a idea for a movie, I just need a production crew”, and demonstrates a common misunderstanding of the nature of creative leadership in large productions 1/x
