Heard on Houston 610 this morning that the Houston #Texans defense is very good on a down-by-down basis, referencing EPA Per Play; but the team will give up chunk plays occasionally. (I'm paraphrasing here). So, obviously, I needed to verify. Image Hmmm...not sure I like how this dark grey format chart presents.

Not putting a lot of stock in the weekend report of Crennel potentially staying on as HC for Houston.

2021 will need to be a season of cleansing the roster for 2022. A year of inexpensive one year vet contracts + giant sized undrafted class. A new GM and HC would need at least one year to overturn this roster appropriately and clear up the salary cap.

Using vets to bridge gaps in specific position groups.

Large (20+) undrafted class will give the team a low percentage shot at finding a keeper or two.

Hard not to like what the Houston #Texans have done with the coaching staff the past two years. Last year the team brought in experienced coaching with John Pagano and Brad Seely. Instant impact on special teams and McKinney goes to a Pro Bowl. This year the team is bringing in more experience for Watson with Carl Smith. Smith has been in the league for a long time, and enjoys coaching players rather than focusing on advancement at this point in his career. This is exactly what the team needed.
