Friends, I am writing to ask you to consider actions to protect public health in your area. As many of you are aware, there is a growing anti-public health movement in this country. The focus of these groups is now on lifting requirements for any and all vaccinations. I’m not privy to their plans, but I can guess how this will play out. Public health measures fall largely to individual states. This is precisely why the US pandemic response was a failure, and it is why Arizona was left with the highest death rate during the pandemic.

I would like to thank another judge who recently righted a major wrong perpetuated against my family. I will be writing about this and including full details of what happened, including naming those who subjected our family to hell on earth during our most vulnerable moments. These individuals thought that they could break the law and either pay us off or somehow keep everything under wraps so as not to sully their reputations while attempting to destroy ours. These efforts have now failed, thanks to a judge who saw right through them.

I’m grateful to E. Jean Carroll today, a woman who exhibited the bravery that so many elected officials have not. I believe that she may be the first person to ever elicit accountability for Trump’s various and sundry crimes. He sexually assaulted her and now he will pay. All of these cowering, pathetic simps who stand by and support Trump’s criming are now on notice. You will try to claim this is a witch hunt, but what you are actually doing is supporting sexual violence against women. We see you and we will come for you in every election until

If a person has not used facts to arrive at an opinion, there is very little chance that using facts to debunk will change their mind. Rather, they will just whack-a-mole you with a changing set of false claims as you debunk them one by one. It’s *literally* a neverending battle. To the conspiracy-minded, every false claim that is debunked has the effect of re-enforcing the CM’s beliefs that they hold some knowledge which the experts in whatever field don’t have because they are 1. ā€œShillsā€; 2. ā€œNot doing researchā€ 3. Too dumb to know 4. Part of a coverup

Arguments I’ve seen for not having masking in healthcare systems, and my response.

1. It’s uncomfortable for providers.
Me: Coordinated national efforts to develop and provide better PPE would have great benefits for all. Also, masking is less uncomfortable than an ICU stay. 2. People don’t ā€œwantā€ to.
Me: This one’s pretty easy to address. If a patient refuses to mask, they shouldn’t be seen, instead of making people who rely on masking because they are at high risk forgo medical care, as is the current model.

I would like to take a moment to talk about scientific misinformation, who is susceptible to it, and why I have curtailed my posting here on Twitter. I short, in my opinion, Twitter is an extremely unreliable scientific information broker, particularly now that Elon Musk owns it. First, who is susceptible to misinformation? Well, all of us are, but some more than others. I’m going to share some data from @xlnan, who conducted an outstanding review of the literature on this subject. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Speaking of discrimination against people with disabilities, around this time last year, I predicted this would eventually happen. People just can’t stop trying to cut off the access of people with disabilities to every space. And they won’t stop until they achieve their aim. The only way I can participate is if I’m wearing a high-quality mask or respirator. It won’t be long before masks are banned on transportation as well.

To mock a person struggling with a disability that you don’t understand isn’t clever, or funny, or pwning, or ethical. It reveals the deepest part of you—the part that wants to put us in a drawer so you don’t have to see us or our struggles since they make you uncomfortable. Many people will rightfully have a dawning but belated sense of the pathology of Elon Musk when they read the exchange above. But let me tell you something—I can say with confidence that it’s not just him. It’s also many of you. COVID19 brought to the forefront the social
