The first technique is something many energy healers call heart-breathing.
When your nervous system is overwhelmed, your breathing often becomes shallow and your attention moves into the head. Heart-breathing brings awareness back into the center of the body where emotional regulation lives.
Sit comfortably and place one hand on your heart. Breathe slowly through your nose and imagine the breath moving directly in and out of your chest instead of your lungs. As you inhale, picture soft light filling your heart space. As you exhale, imagine tension melting downward through your body. Stay there for about two or three minutes.
The physical touch on your chest stimulates the vagus nerve, which helps the body move from fight or flight into rest mode, while the visualization gives your mind something gentle to focus on.
