🧵 ALERT: Top o’ the Tuesday to you. We’ll be tuning into the @SFMTA_Muni board mtg today. The new Valencia Street bike lane design is up for a vote. There will be a discussion of the new citywide bike plan, and a vote on an expanded Hayes St. closure. Busy! 🐝 The meeting starts at 1, we'll be along soon thereafter. 🧵 ALERT: At 2pm we'll be tuning into a meeting dedicated to @SFMTA_Muni funding. It's an emergency interagency working group, headed by the @sfcontroller office. Their work is even more urgent now that a city measure to give Muni a financial boost has "lost." Wait, 57% voted yes. Why a loss? Because to take effect it needed a better showing than a bigger tax measure, Prop M. M got nearly 70% of the vote.

Hot topic: An @SFPD retirement measure for the Nov. ballot that's the subject of what Sup. Ronen in a special session earlier today called "shenanigans" The measure would amend the SF charter and give @SFPD cops big pay bumps for delaying retirement. As Rules Cmte chair, Ronen tried to kill it but was outmaneuvered by @AaronPeskin. Ronen quit the chair in protest last week
