Let’s have another vocabulary lesson. Because it looks like too many using X somehow have even less knowledge of English vocabulary than world history or Middle East geography. Today we will cover the words: genocide, occupation, blockade and apartheid.

Feel free to bookmark. Genocide:

Many accusing Israel of genocide look at the list below, A through E, and say, “Yep! Genocide!” Sadly, these people miss the important context before the list begins: INTENT. Image

@Willojean272829 Yes, it's hard to fully understand.

Best guess: The State Department and administration are playing the PR game. Better that all trapped Americans just stay quietly in Afghanistan, or die there quietly, along with the allies who fought alongside us, rather than @Willojean272829 to be successfully rescued, come back to the U.S., and loudly tell their stories, thereby destroying the entire narrative the administration is trying to sell that everything that happened in Afghanistan was inevitable, they did their best to get most Americans out, so shut up.

I am hearing some very plausible excuses for how the video of election workers at the State Farm Center unloading suitcases full of ballots weren't really "suitcases" and nothing odd was happening. And in a world in which we hadn't just rewritten every rule of adult logic so that we could spend four years engaging in any random conspiracy theory that might somehow delegitimize a sitting POTUS, I'd be inclined to say, "yeah, maybe nothing to see here."

However ...

I’ve been RTing a lot of predictions for the election in two days. But I haven’t offered my own prediction. Mostly because I don’t do predictions. I don’t pretend to know the future. But I am pretty good at understanding strategies, and how those impact the future. So, here is my prediction on this election:

Unlike those who feel this is the most important mid-term election of our lifetime, I don’t think this midterm is that much more important than any other election. And I feel that way for the same reason most say this is so important:

“Imagine that — 63 million Americans are written off because they disagree with the media elite’s politics. Echoes of Clinton’s ‘deplorables’ comment ring loud and clear.” “This lack of balance permits little or no coverage of any of his achievements. How many people, for example, know about the employment records shattered by the jobs boom unleashed by Trump’s policies?”

Perhaps this is as good a time as any to point out that, over the past 9 years EVERYONE who cares deeply about politics has felt this at least twice, regardless of what side of the aisle we’ve been on. America was not supposed to be a land where the side in power was supposed to rub the other side’s nose in it. That’s why each state was supposed to have most of the power as to how it’s citizens chose to live. (Yes, other than slavery. I know.)

Brilliant, brilliant point here.

This is politics in a free republic. Sometimes that means being in the minority and taking a kick square in the teeth. It sucks. It happened to us with the ACA. And with the Iran deal too. We got over it. To all of my friends on the left, I want you to take what you're feeling today and understand that THIS is why we protested the ACA and the Iran deal. NOT because of the color of anyone's skin.

@drawandstrike It looks to me like what POTUS did was even smarter than that if you project the Democrats’ next move: he has trapped them in a box canyon.

Option 1: the EO isn’t challenged in court. It’s a half-win for everyone, with Trump stepping in to fix a problem. The story of @drawandstrike babies being ripped from their parents is over now, forgotten in two weeks.

Option 2: the Democrats, the ACLU, etc. get involved and (rather easily, I think) overturns the EO. How? Because, clearly, POTUS didn’t have the power to circumvent current law.

Which means ...
