Some notes on vegetable storage for folks trying to keep perishable veggies fresh as long as possible: Most leafy vegetables are sprayed regularly with water at the store. This makes them look nice and keeps them perky in the short term, but it will lead to decay really quickly. Dry everything off as soon as you get home.
