With the rate of medical errors and how many people die from them each year, it's amazing the people in the replies here who would rather medical staff not have their assumptions challenged rather than train them to be more open-minded about people's bodies. Another case of people in a position of supremacy preferring that they and their loved ones face more risk, suffering, and even death rather than advocate for society to change things that might benefit marginalized people as well.

Yes, people really prefer to ignore history and pretend fascism just comes and openly declares itself. The world is much more comfortable when you can believe that. People have already established the talking point that, unless a marginalized group of people are actively being marched into gas chambers or camps, making parallels to the historical fascism is outrageous, beyond the pale.

Just FYI, the Vulva Cop is not the only person working to correct ignorance and negligent lack of training and instruction in the medical field about the sexual pleasure and anatomy of people with vulvas. There are at least 2 women urologists working from within the medical profession on this as well, and one is explicitly trans-inclusive, and the other has, to my knowledge, not said anything negative about trans people.

Just a reminder that it's a myth that if you're thirsty you're already dehydrated. It's OK to rely on thirst to do the job that is the reason it exists: to remind you to drink—unless you have specific medical conditions that interfere with normal thirst. In other words, you're not a bad or negligent person if you don't constantly "hydrate" and wait until you're thirsty to drink.

I'm pretty sure the @CDCdirector wants gay men to be killed. I cannot think of another reason to use the wording that the kids "are traced back to individuals who come from the men-who-have-sex-with-men community, the gay men's community". IT'S JUST HOUSEHOLD TRANSMISSION. Meaning the kind of normal close contact that family members have with one another, such as healthy, completely reasonable contact between kids and parents, can transmit the disease.

It really infuriates me to be teaching kids in middle school to 10th grade who are very bright but who have not been taught enough grammar in school that they can reliably identify what part of speech a word in a sentence is. @2beornotbeing Yeah, not hardening off can easily kill young plants that were grown indoors. They'll die of sunburn, and wind makes that process more deadly. It's probably the #1 mistake of new gardeners who try to grow from seed. @2beornotbeing All the other mistakes will result in some plants muddling through, but sunburn and shock can wipe out plants or weaken them enough that they die from other causes. Luckily, you don't need any special equipment to harden off transplants.
