Trump's 14th Amendment case that might kick him off the ballot is up at Scotus, and everyone from @judgeluttig to @tedcruz are filing amicus briefs....

Can everyone's favorite grifter (mine anyway) Tore Maras be far behind?

dailydot.com/debug/terpseho… @judgeluttig @tedcruz Tore's amicus presents a...dubious argument.

Her fans think she's unlocked the secret to MAGA reigning forever and ever if Scotus accepts her "Ninth Amendment rights" argument.

The Ninth is pretty brief. It says your rights aren't limited to the enumerated ones. Image

#WildProtest: the protest that never was.

The day Trump tweeted his call for Jan 6 to "be wild", Ali Alexander registered WildProtest[.]com.

It was to be held on Lot 8 on Capitol grounds.

It never actually happened. Instead, it was used as bait.
theoddpost.com/2022/01/20/the… To write this piece I looked at website registrations and web archives. Knitted that together with reporting from @propublica, @BuzzFeedNews, @emptywheel, @just_security and @capitolhunters into a single narrative centered on #WildProtest, the protest that never was.

I've always thought that what's missing in News is the sort of iterative publish/confirm/disprove/refine cycle that happens with science.
I don't know if this cuts it but I do agree that engagement should not proxy for News. That's where social media went wrong. ...1/2 Another possibility is to select for processes, not whether a fact has been confirmed or not, because that will bias old news that has had more time to get confirmed. Which can take months.
Processes = does the News shop follow proper journalistic practice = trust points.
