BREAKING: Rep. Greene clearly violated federal law with an unlimited super PAC solicitation. If candidates get away with this type of fundraising, the soft-money ban will be meaningless. The @FEC needs to enforce the law and shut this type of fundraising activity down. 1/ @iarnsdorf @ProPublica found and wrote about Rep. Greene’s illegal solicitation video here. 2/

INCONCEIVABLE: Mueller wrote: "'coordination' does not have a settled definition in federal criminal law" and then proceeded to make up a definition contrary to longstanding federal campaign finance law by requiring an "agreement" between the Trump campaign and Russians. 52 USC 30116(a)(7)(B)(i) states that “expenditures made by any person in cooperation, consultation, or concert, with, or at the request or suggestion of, a candidate, his authorized political committees, or their agents, shall be considered to be a contribution to such candidate”

2016 Trump campaign illegally solicited contributions from foreign nationals via email. I helped write & file complaint. FEC lawyers recommended enforcement. But 2 GOP Commissioners blocked enforcement. Case dismissed on 2-2 vote. @EllenLWeintraub explains in strong statement. Here’s the complete complaint, explaining that even after receiving notice that it had illegally solicited contributions from members of Icelandic Parliament, Trump campaign solicited members of British, Scottish and Australian Parliaments. fec.gov/files/legal/mu…

Giuliani’s statement that @realDonaldTrump reimbursed Cohen for the $130k payment to @StormyDaniels puts Trump on the hook for criminal violation of campaign finance laws. Violation is only criminal if knowing and willful. Trump reimbursement=Trump knowledge. seemingly knowingly and willfully caused his campaign committee to file an incomplete disclosure report with the FEC—the committee didn’t disclosure the $130k “expenditure.”
