I've created a searchable webpage of all published Canadian government spending from 2015-2025! (in thread)

The CDN government publishes this information online as part of Public Accounts Except the government publishes the Public Accounts as a PDF or HTML, making it virtually impossible to search and figure things out

With Canada's First Nations, I've started to ask, "When does it end?" Are we going to pay perpetually?

Well, instead of that, how about we just stop some of it?

This is gonna ruffle some feathers🧵 As you may know, I scraped 576 Financial Statements from First Nations bands, and tabulated the Cash and Accumulated Surplus (net equity) from the fiscal statements, and made a summary

There is 780 Indian Bands in Canada🧵
There is public Financial Statements for 577 of them (74%)

She was attacked saying there was no proof they got the money -

Been trying to accumulate financial information of every First Nations band in Canada.
Want to present a consolidated picture

Much of it is shocking, like Kwantlen First Nation in BC

The Reserve only has 68 people, and the entire band is 428 people🧵 Yet in spite of only 68 people on Reserve and 428 in the entire band, the Kwantlen Band received $17 million in government funding in 2024

They made $12 Million "profit" in 2024

A class action suit was started by St. Theresa Point First Nation and Sandy Lake First Nation saying its the government (read taxpayers) responsibility to keep their homes in good shape
