BUDGET 2024 THREAD:

The big headline is that National has finally delivered it’s much talked about TAX CUTS, as it campaigned on.

From July 31 the average Kiwi family will receive up to:
- a $102 a fortnight tax cut
- a $150 FamilyBoost childcare subsidy

In total this is up to $250 per fortnight extra for kiwi families (on average families will receive less than this.)

- They’re increasing the income tax thresholds from July 31 for people earning over $14,000 per annum.
- The independent earner tax credit of up to $20 a fortnight extended to those earning between $24k - $48k to $24k - $70k.
- In-work tax credit increased by up to $50 a fortnight per family.
- The $5 prescription co-payment will be reinstated for those aged over 14.

The Inflection Point NZ conference is about to get underway. There’s probably around 100 or so protesters outside - they’ve been throwing excrement at attendees. Smells terrible outside. Unbelievable degeneracy.
