When the Titanic sank 110 years ago today — on April 15, 1912, it was, of course, front-page news.
Almost immediately, it seems readers began sending The Times poems they had written about the tragedy.
One of my favorite holiday stories from the paper's archives is this one, about the electrician who decided to sting colored lights on the family's Christmas tree (1884)
