Safiya (رضي الله عنها) was the sister of Hamza (رضي الله عنه), and when she received the news that hamza was killed; she wanted to go and take a look at his body. Hamza’s (رضي الله عنه) body was mutilated so Zubair stops her and she pushes him aside and said, “Why are you stopping me? I have been told how my brother has been mutilated, that was in Allah’s cause, and that fact has comforted us. I will keep myself under control and remain calm, if Allah wills it.” Hamza

Allah says

“So (Muhammad) obey not the deniers of the oneness of Allah. Obey them not and don’t follow their way.”

Many sahabah didn’t spend alot of time with Muhammad ﷺ it was the people who were in madinah who were affected by Muhammad ﷺ the most. There were new recruits coming in to madinah some were rude, some of them were harsh, there were some problems and the sahabah were being patient. As-Sideeq RA was sensing some discomfort of the sahabah seeing these new recruits not go through the Tarbiyyah like them, As-Sideeq gathered all of the sahabah, & goes

"You will follow the ways of those nations who were before you, span by span and cubit by cubit (i.e., inch by inch) so much so that even if they entered a hole of a mastigure, you would follow them."

We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! (Do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?"

He said, "Whom else?" (Abu Saeed Al khudri)

Why were the jews and christians specifically mentioned? In another narration it says Persians and romans.

Abu dhar RA asked Unais RA what are the people saying about Muhammad?

Unais said

“They’re claiming hes a him a magician, a soothsayer, a sorcerer a liar,”

Abu Dhar said “You haven’t satisfied my hunger, i want to go and investigate the matter myself, what the people say might not be right”

Abu dhar wasnt willing to trust the people he wanted to hear it himself, Allah says if you hear a rumour then investigate it yourself.
