Let me give you the story of Hussein Mohammed, Nick Mwendwa, SportPesa and how those are inseparable in Kenyan football.

So Murang'a Seals FC decided to nominate Hussein Mohammed to represent them at the upcoming FKF AGM. But Sauti Sol says no. Not Hussein. Image For beginners, Hussein Mohammed looks like the only guy who may kick Nick Mwendwa out of the FKF Presidency, at the coming elections. Now, both men are offside; Hussein is not a registered FKF member. Nick is serving a second (what Sports Act says is his last) term in office. Image

Time difference between the first Ker (socio-political leader) of the Luo Ramogi Ajwang' and the second Ker Ajuma Oginga Odinga was 363 years.

Here's the full list of those who've occupied the once powerful seat of KER of the Luo. Prof Ogutu was not my friend for nothing. There had existed other Kers before Ajwang' like Ramogi Ochola, Ramogi Lang'ni and Ramogi Olum but those served the Luo before they migrated to present day Kenya. Upon arrival in the virgin land of Yimbo, Siaya County, there was a leadership vacuum Ogutu writes in his book.

What's the meaning of your county's name? I'll start by Luo counties. Kisumu was originally Kisuma, Dholuo for market - where barter trade among the Lang'o, Abaluhya, Abagusii, Luo and Maasai communities thrived. Kisuma-Kisumo-and-now-Kisumu. Language evolves. Siaya. First Luo settlement in Kenya was Yimbo, in current Siaya County. From here groups were dispersed to current settlements. This act of dispersing, mostly attributed to wars by Owiny Sigoma, is what Dholuo calls 'siayo'. How you'd send a dog, cow, enemy away. Siana guogno!

Thread on FLAGS OF WEST AFRICA
Looks like West African countries all went to the same tailor to get their flags done. Can't blame tailor. Y'all can't go to same person for a piece of cloth. Ghana must have arrived first and was given a black star patched in yellow, green, red. Image Then came Senegal. "You see what you gave Ghana, yes, vertical of that. Give it to me quickly quickly!"
Tailor: Star as well?
Senegal: Yes please. Make it green though. Image

Min Omolo ka Nyunja. Luo Twitter can I share with you the story of this famous woman?

You surely have heard of the saying 'ARITO MA ANENO MIN OMOLO K'ANYUNJA'.

Sit down and follow: Arito ma aneno Min Omolo ka Nyunja loosely translates to 'I have waited so much until I saw the mother of Omolo son of Nyunja'. It literally means the person is lamenting at the length of time taken to wait. It's been too much wait!

I was at the stadium at 6.30am, some 30mins ahead of calltime.

A group of fans who'd traveled overnight was at the gate already.

May 13, 2018 the day Gor Mahia played Hull City in a fully sold out Kasarani Stadium.

Wanna know how we planned & executed the project? Be my guest tbh I'd never seen Kasarani that full for a club football match.
Two weeks before the game I'd have projected 15k maybe 20k fans.

But few minutes to kickoff Rakki Hassan Stadium Manager signalled me saying full capacity. '64,700' my voice bellowed from the stadium sound system

You've probably heard the Luo referring to President Moi as 'MOI WUOD ODONGO' meaning 'Moi son of Odongo'. May I report on its etymology? Be my guest. Sorry, etymology means origin of something. Story behind the story. Look at me always thinking everyone on this app is at my level of pedagogy. Ha!

To be fair I didn't know who Dylan Kerr was before he joined Gor Mahia in July 2017.

THREAD

#ThankYouDylan When Zé Maria left us after SportPesa Cup in Dar es Salaam, I wasn't worried. Zé, by any trophy standards, was an average coach. So I was hopeful we would get a winning coach. But the name Dylan didn't sound like a winning name. #ThankYouDylan
