Reading the Bebop reviews and yea, this is exactly what I expected. Also no one needed or wanted more Vicious screen time.

LRT granted I have no thoughts whatsoever on what is apparently the raw sexuality of Alfred Molina's Doc Ock, I think that post highlights something that I've definitely noticed in the last, probably decade: the utter sexlessness of cinema. I noticed it most recently in the trailer for Shang-Chi when a character points out that the titular martial artist suddenly has abs. It's not a "Wow that's hot" moment, it's just...obligatory.

It's so wild to me that there are interpretations of Revolutionary Girl Utena where the movie *isn't* a continuation of the show. The movie makes no sense without it but also Anthy is so fuckin' smug the whole movie. She knows she's coming out of this with a girlfriend. She's crazy forward in the movie, like aggressively romantic, compared to her very passive self in the show but that's a direct consequence of the events of the series.

There are some, but they are nonspecific and not present in all cases. As such to make the diagnosis, the ME needs to exclude other potential causes of death which will necessitate a toxicology report 2/?

There's a tendency in fantasy stories to depict religious institutions as corrupt and villainous, and that makes sense because historically you needn't look far to see that was the case. But it's more interesting to me that Miura portrays Mozgus and his men as *genuinely* devout. Mozgus doesn't relish the harm he causes people, but he doesn't feel any sympathy for his victims either. He's not an evil man, but he does evil to achieve something greater. He's a testament to the greater evil that religion can represent: a system to justify for cruelty.
