I have decided to do a thread on why EVM hacking is not possible at scale. I have no expectation of changing conspiracy theorist beliefs.

This thread is for those people who are genuinely looking for answers. (1/n) Image The EVMs used to have a control and ballot unit. The balloting unit has buttons that will transfer the information to the control unit, where the votes are recorded.

Since there are concerns raised from many corners, the EC has introduced a VVPAT system. (2/n)

Dear @TVMohandasPai,

Hope you are doing well. You are right when you say that Nehru pushed for socialism and not capitalism.

India was under imperialism for 200 years (highest form of capitalism) and the result was widespread inequality in Indian society back then. (1/n) It was not just Nehru, the whole political spectrum was against foreign capital back then through which India was colonized. It was quite natural.

You can blame Nehru for it. But he had a vision to begin with on how to achieve the economic goals and he worked towards it. (2/n)

Arvind vs Arvind: Who is right?

Arvind Subramaniam, first CEA of Modi Govt, published a paper "India’s GDP Mis-estimation: Likelihood, Magnitudes, Mechanisms, and Implications" in 2019.

Arvind Panagariya, first Vice-Chairman of Niti Aayog countered it last week like below (1/n) ImageImage To assess who's correct about GDP, let's examine sector-specific growth outside of GDP.

Check industry reports, trade data, industry associations, and government reports for insights on sectors like car and steel production.

This data can help validate their predictions (2/n)

▪️ If Adani shares are overvalued by 85%, how much is the Indian stock market overvalued?

▪️ What keeps the bubble going?

▪️ Should you stay invested?

Long thread Warning! I hope it will be worth it.

(1/n) How can we estimate the size of the bubble?

BSE Sensex averaged 20,120 in FY 2013-14. NIFTY-50 averaged at 6009. In Dec-2022, Sensex hit an all-time high of 63,583 and NIFTY hit 18,887.

Sensex rose by 3.16x times and NIFTY by 3.14x in 8 years. What's wrong with this?

There are several misleading claims about the Bangalore-Mysore expressway. One is the distance between is reduced to 118km from 142 km.

This appeared in several online media and I spotted it in a leading Malayalam Newspaper @ManoramaDaily. (1/n) Fact #1. The distance between the two cities didn't reduce. It is still 143 km (went up by 1 km).

Fact #2. The 118km is the distance covered by the new expressway.

Next time. Even Nitin Gadkari claims that the time between the cities has reduced from 3 hours to 75 mins. (2/n)

I did some voice analysis of @RahulGandhi a couple of years ago.

I always felt that only a handful of RaGa's speeches resonate with me and while others are very difficult to listen to.

So, I did a frequency spectrum analysis using my limited knowledge of the subject. (1/13) Human ears can detect and listen to frequencies in the range of 20Hz - 20Khz theoretically.

The tool that I used creates a frequency spectrum from an audio clip. I used two clips, the first from a rally at Jaipur, and the Project Shakti launch video (2/13)

Why organic farming using organic fertilizers is a bad idea for Govts to pursue?

This thread is to logically prove what @ShashiTharoor told the other day.

A human body is made of these elements found in nature of which Carbon(C), Hydrogen(H) and Oxygen(O) forms the bulk. (1/14) 65.1 kg of a human being weighing 70kg, is made up of Carbon, Hydrogen and Oxygen (CHO).

The person also holds 2.1 Kg Nitrogen, 1.05 Kg Calcium, 840g Phosphorous and so on. (2/14)

How much money did UPA and NDA Govts make out of Petrol and Diesel?

Back in 2014, an average Indian family used to pay ₹10,000 in taxes on fuel. In 2021, the same family is contributing ₹25,000 every year as taxed on Fuel.

(1/4) Before 2014, state governments used to make around 40% more than Central Govt. Now under Modi is making nearly double (92%) of state Govt revenues.

I filed an RTI with @BPCLimited seeking information about their land holdings across the country.

They chose not to answer by citing Section 7(9) of RTI Act, saying if there are no ready records available, and they are not liable to create, collate information and so on (1/9) The CPIO used the term "The area of landholdings of BPCL in different parts of India is VOLUMINOUS". This means that there is a lot of land spread across the country.

This throws some interesting questions. (2/9)

Dear All,

There is plenty of content on social media which can shed light & expose the true nature of the current ruling dispensation.

While there is no dearth of content, it is scattered all over.

youtube.com/channel/UC3dS6…

(1/4) So, we have created a channel that is intended to be a repository of such videos, a one-stop-shop reference channel of sorts, for convenience.

This will ensure that you don't have to scramble for a video all over the internet when you need to use it to some end.

Whenever China has an internal crisis, it turns its attention to a convenient target, India.

China did the same in 1962, it is repeating it now.

The widely-believed narrative is that Nehru's Forward Policy led to the war.

That's not the truth! Then, what's the truth?

(1/n) Bertil Lintner is a Swedish journalist and author who dedicated 40 years of his career on South East Asian affairs and a leading expert in the field.

In his book "China's India War", he examines what compelled China to attack India in 1962.

"Every criminal leave behind a trace"

Let me debunk Arnab Goswami's latest story about the attack on him. He made a few mistakes.

1. He told, they were driving parallel, then stopped, and took a u-turn.

2. Started hitting his window. I assume that the car was stationary. (1/5) 3. Now, they are opposite to each other with the pillion rider next to Arnab banging his window pane. So far no ink throwing.

4. Now take a look at the way ink was thrown. Some from the side, but some from the front windshield, in the direction behind the biker. (2/5)

I tried to tag and map the number of speed-breakers / road-humps inside Electronic City Phase-1 & 2 township.

I could spot 80 speed-breakers within 17.9 km, i.e., 4.5 humps/km. This analysis is to root cause the high traffic snarls in EC Phase-1.

(1/21) Some context: Electronic City(EC) is an Industrial Township in Bengaluru, housing 158 companies including India's largest IT companies Infosys, Wipro, TCS and Tech Mahindra.

More than 1 lakh people work here.
