Along with vehicle liability for the Ottawa occupiers, we really haven’t discussed that many of these vehicles are leased. The use of these leased commercial vehicles in this occupation, goes against leasing contracts. Like any leased vehicle, Care Custody Control is part of a leasing agreement. Leaseholder has to maintain full liability insurance, use vehicle in parameter of agreed use in contract, maintenance, and above all avoid any seizure of MTO by abiding Highway Traffic Rules

I have wondered in the last few years how any business holding risk, Insurance, Bonding, Lenders, financial services, are going to deal with a percentage of the population they can’t rely upon. Everyone assumes people avoid financial/liability/Health risk. To some degree Often there’s some honour system in business. An insurer trusts that you don’t want to risk lawsuits/killing others by driving your car up on a sidewalk. That there was some common sense, or at least the fear of the law. Now?

Are Freedom Convoy truckers covered? The insurance execs quoted are being overly conservative. If the MTO suspended the driver’s license/plate/CVOR, charged them & seized the vehicles, the truck owners liability coverage would be voided. canadianunderwriter.ca/insurance/are-… polite business speak. Any/all info given to an insurer that can be verified (or ?) is put in the file. If you see an insured cartage company truck on the news…you take a copy & bring it to an adjuster. They make calls & follow up. Why? Because they’re taking the Risk

If you still have a commercial vehicle in this occupation? Say goodbye to your CVOR certificate, plates, drivers license, your liability coverage, …god forbid your vehicle is leased. The financial backlash & lawsuits won’t be televised. #bankruptcy cbc.ca/news/politics/… You may as well put your truck keys on the dash, put a call into your lawyer, tell your wife to not answer the phone (creditors) and come pick you up. Because buddy, any driving you do from here out will only be done on your XBox (if you’re not indicted)

My daughter and son rent a place over on Bloor E near Church. They can hear the honking from there.
The condos near the museum are some of the most expensive in Canada. Many many CEO’s, powerbrokers. Not to mention half of Vaughan was heading down to Yorkville this weekend for dinner. Sotto Sotto, Stk etc.

Heads are going to roll, if any of these guys are sub trades, or do any work in Vaughan.

Toronto now. We are so fucked @CarymaRules @ItsDeanBlundell @LochlinCross @ryanlindley Still. The assholery to want to sit there asses near the hospitals and blow there horns. MTO can and should just seize them. Driving these things on the road is a charge. Hold them wait.

I need as many people as possible to tag @JimWatsonOttawa @ottawapolice & any media person in Ontario covering this. They put a tarp over the propane. This is an enormous security issue. We have to do this ourselves #FluTrucksClan @jlancasterCBC @cp24 @ConsumerSOS @EvanSolomonShow @JIMrichards1010 @cristina_CP24

I just watched a Tiktoklive, where a young man is driving his company’s arborist pickup. Where he told the rally participant that he drove from Kingston to take part. The young guy said he’d just gotten his life together, got this job, stopped doing heavy drugs, that he made so many friends in the Anti-vax online groups. He feels he’s in a community now

So by partaking in an illegal occupation protest, does police understand that all those commercial vehicles are violating the terms of their liability insurance? Insurance carriers can deny claims/essentially jump off risk. Let’s say, one hits a pedestrian/building/blows up Every large truck/commercial pickup parked in the middle of the streets will have no coverage if an incident occurs. This would mean the city will be 100% liable. Yes of course there will be subrogation. It is a potential legal mess that taxpayers will underwrite

He tried to stretch himself to the white suprematists, the Nazis, the angry anti-vax mommies..and it will be the far-right evangelicals that will take him down 😋 The way the world is, his best bet is to lose, become a mouthy pundit, talk shit about his party, start a YouTube channel, and burn it down

Can someone tell ⁦@OttawaPolice⁩ these guys are bringing Gerry cans of fuel to the hill? ⁦@CarymaRules⁩ ⁦@ItsDeanBlundell⁩ This is on tiktoklive right now Image Even transporting these cans in this manner is dangerous. And you know, they’re smoking too.

This is a severe security issue, FFS

Not only has the cost of the pandemic lockdowns been on the backs of small business & workers, but so will this fucking #FluTrucksClan
This invading horde of miscreants is being coddled like toddlers. There are laws in place, use them Image First, organizers can be sued for costs, police, business interruption, damage. The person who died as a result of protest vehicles blocking the ambulance, their family can/should sue for wrongful death. Organizers can be charged for involuntary manslaughter.

So the protest at Vaughan Mills has shut down the malls parking lot. People are running thru gridlocked traffic as police sit drinking coffee. You can’t get over the bridge on Langstaff over the 400. Pickup trucks have blocked access. People are screaming at cars that are stuck. No police anywhere.

Why the eff are they in my city? At Rutherford? Are they parking at Vaughan Mills? 🙄 One wonders that there’s not a nefarious reason for stopping in Vaughan. As we have that big Anti-liberal group of developers who run ads & despise Trudeau. They have $.
Or….

It’s unbelievable this was the beginning of the nightmare. My youngest was just getting better after many hospital visits. I was still quite Sick. My son was back at St.Jean Richelieu garrison. Oldest daughter was watching it spread at her UofT residence Our family was more hyper aware, as we went thru this viral pneumonia illness at my son’s garrison after trainers returned from international military games in China. But until January we didn’t put it together as this is what it was. The world was still oblivious.

Media has been criticized for coverage of the Truck protest, as it being about lifting lockdown etc…ignoring that at its root,is conspiracy theories & dangerous misinformation. Blocking hospital access for emergency transport is domestic terrorism I lost two family members just in the last week, one needing emergency ambulance transport. Both dying in hospital.
This isn’t a “both sides” story to report. Purposefully stopping access to hospitals for the sick/staff is a criminal act. It’s immoral callous treachery
