🚨 The U.S. Treasury is preparing to intervene in the Japanese yen.

This is an extraordinary move that could become one of the most consequential currency-market events in decades-

Yet 99% of investors have no idea why it’s happening and how it will impact U.S. markets.

Here’s what you need to know: 🧵 The yen has fallen toward its weakest level against the dollar in roughly four decades.

A weak yen makes Japanese exports more competitive...

But it also makes imported oil, food, and other dollar-priced goods much more expensive for Japanese consumers.

Japan now wants to stop the decline.Image

🚨 The U.S. Treasury just repurchased $2 billion of its own debt.

99% of investors have no idea what this means or why they did this.

Here’s what that actually means, and why it matters: 🧵 Image The Treasury accepted $2 billion of older bonds maturing between 2037 and 2046.

Investors offered to sell it $16.3 billion, meaning the operation was more than 8× oversubscribed.

But this is not the government paying off the national debt with a budget surplus.

The other day I asked my followers what advice they would give to someone who is new to the stock market.

456 people replied.

These are the 10 best pieces of advice: "Buy index funds. Ignore noise / news about the market.

This strategy sounds risky, but is actually very conservative. If history is any predictor of the future, it will work out, on a long enough time horizon."

15 sentences that will teach you more about money than most 4-month personal finance classes:

1. Don't buy a $60,000 car with a $50,000 salary. 2. It is not how much you make, it is how much you keep & invest that really matters.

3. Investing will multiply your money way faster than any savings account will.

4. The earlier you start investing the less you can invest & still become wealthy.

Charlie Munger was worth $2.6 billion at the time of his death. He was the right hand man of Warren Buffett.

A few years ago he answered a question about envy at the Daily Journal annual meeting.

Everyone needs to hear what he said🧵: Image 1/ Now, the trouble with that is, is that the basic needs are pretty well filled… And what happens is, it’s really interesting, is with all this enormous increase in living standards and freedom and diminishment of racial inequities and all the huge progress that has come...

My net worth has increased from $40,000 to $524,492 from age 22 to 26.

My plan is to get to $1,000,000 by 30.

Here is the process I am going to follow to get there: First off, let me be clear:

I didn't get lucky some crypto that 10x'd.
I didn't buy a random stock that 10x'd.

I followed the my system. I call it "The Decade Investor System".

I read one of the best money books so you don't have to.

Here are the biggest lessons to learn: Image 1. No one cares about your car (or other fancy toys).

If you think people will respect or admire you because of the cool stuff you own, you are almost always wrong.

Time & time again this is said. People care about how you make them feel, not the car you show up in.

~8% of people Americans are millionaires.

If you want to be one of them, these 5 tips will help you get there: 1. Stop trading your time for money.

If you spend 8 hours at work, that means there are 16 hours per day that you are NOT making money.

Sell a product, buy real estate, invest in stocks... own/do things that make you money while you are not working.

This book changed how I look at money. I read it so you don't have to.

These are the 5 biggest lessons I learned: Image Lesson 1: Don’t drive your wealth.

What is the most popular car among millionaires? Toyota.

86% of luxury cars are purchased by non-millionaires.

The way to wealth isn't driving the expensive car to look cool. It is actually buying assets with that money.

23 money lessons learned in 2023: 1. Something is better than nothing.

Investing $100 is better than investing $0.

Making an extra $200/mo is better than making an extra $0/mo.

Retiring with $500,000 is better than retiring with $0.

It doesn’t always have to be a home run or a strikeout.

This is how compounding could make you a millionaire: Everyone talks about the power of compounding.

(100% transparency) Image First off, I am not writing this thread to brag. There are plenty of 25 year olds with WAY more money than I have. I am writing this for 3 reasons:

- To inspire people to start
- To continue to be transparent
- To track my journey on social media

Thanks for understanding!🙂

Dave Ramsey interviewed 10,000 millionaires to find the secret to building wealth.

This is what he found: Image 1. 8 out of 10 millionaires invested in their company’s 401(k) plan.

On top of that, 3 out of 4 millionaires also invested outside of their company's plans.

BTW, no millionaire in the study said single stock investing was a big factor in their financial success.
