Spiderverse Spoilers!!

After watching the movie, I’d like to talk about Gwen and the significance of the movie’s pro-trans message.

The symbolism between her and her dad’s conflict, and how they tell a story of a dad accepting his daughter as his daughter. 🧵 Image Gwen is blatantly a trans woman in this movie, it’s never outright spoken but the implication is unavoidable.

If the ā€œprotect trans kidsā€ sign above her door wasn’t enough for you, her entire story as Spiderwoman centers around her dad accepting her identity.

Art Tutorial!!

On how I do the screen like effect on my art.

As well as how you can make a glitch-like effect along with it if you so choose. 🧵 Image Disclaimer, for this tutorial I'm using Clip Studio Paint, but I'm sure you can find a way to translate this method in your own program.

Though don't ask me, because I'll be unfamiliar.

The Indistinct Identity Flag

For those who are in a spectrum of an identity they cannot clearly define, who most labels or combination of such don't fit, and may feel outcasted or aimless because of it.

Be that gender identity, sexuality, or of the aroace spectrum.

Info in 🧵 Image This is specifically for anyone with one or more spectrum identities who feel they are in the middle or outside or some space they cannot describe.

Such as nonbinary, mspec attraction like bi or pan, or somewhere in aroace spectrum.

Peepaw Afton jokes were never funny. It was always either ableism or making him homophobic and that was the whole joke.

Sometimes you'd get the rare funny one but that was incredibly rare. Because I'm going to get a lot of people asking.

The jokes most often boiled down to him needing mobility aid and or a care-giver or having dementia.

That or it would just be him being old so he has old fashioned bigoted views and that's the joke.

Rid's unfortunately got me thinking about Homestuck again so I'm going to share literally the only good piece of Homestuck media.

I miss the bad bitch and her boys sm... I'm going to talk about my favourite OCs feel free to ask questions.

This is Lady 8 and The Billiard boys. They're a group of time and space based mobsters who manage keeping the timeline in check while also committing crime. 🧵 ImageImageImage The Billiard Boys are a homebrew DnD race me and Rid came up with a few years back, called Zillians. I kinda based their whole look and vibe off axolotls but they aren't actually aquatic, just dudes. Image

Remember guys. It’s okay to make fun of something for being low quality and lazy, and to use it to promote yourself.

But NOT if the person behind that work is a nazi pedophile. /sarcasm for those out of the loop

This doesn’t just apply to William interpretations, but I think people need to understand the difference between a humanized villain, and a sympathetic villain.

Because although it is easy to conflate the two, I do feel they are very different. + A sympathetic villain is a villain who’s actions or reason for those actions you can sympathize with. Even if what they’re doing is monsterous.

They could have a ā€œnoble goal,ā€ in their eyes, but that isn’t always the case. Sometimes it’s revenge sparked by pain and grief. +

Sometimes I have the evil urge to draw Flipside characters as furries.

But I have too much work so here’s a thread of what animals I associate the main villains with. 🧵

CW / Fictional SA

I’m not in the Analog Horror community beyond like casually enjoying it. But as someone with and as someone who writes characters who have trauma around SA from a young age. Uh. Yeah don’t use that strictly as shock value please? + When handled with respect, it is completely fine to include those subjects in your work. As long as you aren’t fetishizing or ONLY including it because it’s the most ā€œdark thing you could think of.ā€

It doesn’t come off as scary, it just comes off as tasteless and unnecessary. +
