In this thread, we will talk about the Centauro II, the wheeled mobile gun system with the greatest firepower in the service today.
Another basic guide (1/32).
The story of the Centauro II began in 2011, when the Italian Army signed a contract with the CIO consortium (Iveco Defense Vehicles and Leonardo) for the development of a replacement for the B1 Centauro, which at the time was obsolete.

Why does the Brazilian army insist on an "MBT" with a maximum weight of 49 tons to replace the Leopard 1A5 and possible solution.
A thread 🧵
We have to keep in mind that in recent times the most hostile country on Brazil's borders has been Venezuela. With the country's current "president" Nicolas Maduro saying that they would knock out Brazil and Colombia's teeth in the event of war.

Today we are going to talk about the type 90 Kyū-maru, The King of Japanese Armor. 🧵
Basic guide
In the mid-1970s, the Type 74 was put into active service in Japan, but at the same time the Soviet Union was operating T-64 and T-72 tanks that had been put into service years earlier, Japan at the time did not have any vehicles of its stature at the time.

The sad situation involving future Brazilian army vehicles (for the MBT lovers)
A thread 🧵
It recently became public knowledge that the EB (Brazilian army) will hold a public consultation from August 1st to November 1st, this has to do with the search for a new MBT and IFV to replace the more than 200 Leopard 1A5s and some M113s that we use as IFVs

Today we will talk about the Type 10, the most advanced MBT ever put into production in Japan.
Big thread 🧵
In the 90's the Japanese saw the need for a more modern vehicle to replace the Type 74 as a lighter tank capable of being moved wherever the JSDF needed it, unlike the type 90 which had a more limited area of operation due to its weight

Leopard 2A4 one of the most effective vehicles in the Ukrainian war and the most numerous version of the leopard 2 in the Ukrainian army.
Service in the Ukrainian army and capabilities 🧵
The first country to announce the shipment of the Leopard 2A4 to Ukraine was Poland, which requested permission to re-export the vehicles on January 24th and was granted the following day, Initially 4 vehicles were sent to Ukraine but Poland sent 10 additional vehicles later, After that, Canada, Spain and Norway also sent Leopard 2A4s to Ukraine.

What to expect if the T-80 actually returns to production lines
My opinion on the subject 🧵
First of all: the last version of the T-80 to come off the production lines was the T-80U so I will put my money on that, although another version may be the one chosen for production.

Talking bad about the T-72B3 mod 2016 and T-72B3 mod 2022 since I'm bored 🧵
Well, the vehicle is not good for modern warfare and several things are missing from it but I even understand why the Russians haven't added so much equipment to the vehicle since you needed to correct the Russian deficiency of not having enough vehicles equipped with thermal vision systems and as you need to upgrade many vehicles all of this would be very expensive, But they could have tried harder. In reality, thinking more about money than quality was a stupid decision that help to led to several cases like the one in the image below

Oshkosh M-ATV
A look at mobility, protection and service in the Ukrainian army. 🧵
in Afghanistan, the USA realized that Humvees, even with structural reinforcements and additional armor, did not provide sufficient protection against IEDs. to solve this problem, the Americans began to use new MRAP-type vehicles, vehicles such as the maxxpro were adopted but they were very large vehicles and despite having excellent protection they were heavy and not very mobile, this led to low mobility in the mountainous terrain of Afghanistan, so in 2008 The Americans began to study another type of more mobile MRAPs

The challenger II was the first western made MBT donated to Ukraine, today I will talk about its capabilities and service in the Ukrainian army. 🧵
I will not go too deep into the history of the vehicle since the focus of this thread would be Ukraine but talking a little about it, the was made by Vickers with a first prototype getting ready in 1988, the vehicle came to pass tests that compared it with the M1A2 and leopard 2 in 1991.
it entered service in 1998 in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment deployed in Germany, the first emplacement of the vehicle was in the 2000s in the KFOR mission (we will talk about this later) the vehicle looks very similar to the challenger I but share less than 3% of parts (according to Vickers)
if we add the orders from Oman with the orders from the United Kingdom, 446 vehicles have been manufactured to date, which is a low number compared to the leopard 2 or M1, but the challenger has never been an export-focused vehicle.

Are tank battles/encounters rare?
My opinion 🧵
I would like to start with a big NO tank battles/encounters are not rare, videos showing battles between tanks are rare (I'm going to say battles because it's easier)
We do have several records that battles between tanks took place in Ukraine but even so they seem almost non-existent, this is thanks to the small number of videos of these occasions.

My opinions on avdiivka and what I have noticed so far 🧵
The Russians started the battle in Avdiivka by throwing several soldiers, vehicles, drones, etc. at the Ukrainians and suffered heavy casualties, but as it was a very large force, the Ukrainians ended up Saturated, which gave room for some advances.
Why the protection of Western vehicles in Ukraine is so important. 🧵
Imagine the scene, you send your BMP-1 to assault a position full of experienced soldiers along with the crew and they all die, either because they passed through a mine or were hit by an ATGM, Very bad, right? You lost experienced people, now what?
STRV 122A, the most protected MBT of the Ukrainian war.
(remake) 🧵
as the vehicle is a modification of the leopard 2A5 came armed with the same gun, the L/44 also used in the STRV 121 (leo2A4) but received the modification of the recoil system and can easily receive the L/55

Here's the real reason why Russia lost 2,157 tanks in the Ukraine war, I promise I won't use data from the second world war like the other guy.
It's a short read 🧵
We can start by showing the main points
1: They don't know how to fight in modern warfare with the tanks they have
2: Their tanks are not suitable for modern warfare
3: They don't care about human or material losses.

Why the Leopard 1A5 isn't that bad, why it has some things better than some Russian and ukrainian tanks and how the Ukrainians can solve the armor problem (Partially)
First of all: same fire control system as the leopard 2.
The leopard 1A5 uses the emes-18 as the main fire control system, the emes-18 is simply an emes-15 used on the Ukrainian leopard 2A4, 2A6 and STRV 122. This system was only modified to be compatible with the leopard 1
