🧵Campaign money. Follow it, if you can. Our campaign finance laws are part of Washington’s core open government laws. We, the people, hold our leaders accountable by requiring campaigns to file reports about money. But in our Tacoma Mayoral race we can’t do that. /1
From June through the general election in November, campaign contribution reports are due weekly to the PDC. The voters should expect to see accurate information about who is giving money to campaigns at the start of every week. /2

TW ran stories that covered same info as purchased ads. Candidates Jason Whalen and Javier Figueroa purchased packages, but ads/stories did not have required ad sponsor info.

Racism and Anti-Blackness in WA 28th Senate Race. This mailer has darkened the skin of the candidate it opposes, T'wina Nobles, and lightened the skin of the candidate it supports, Steve O'Ban. Disgraceful!!! Who did this? Let's dig in. /1
This mailer is an independent expenditure ad put out by a PAC (political action committee) called WA Forward (The Leadership Council). It's not supposed to be coordinated with any candidate. But if I were O'Ban, I'd repudiate this BS. So, what is WA Forward? /2
