On #TertiaryEducation in Nigeria, as at today, there are 99 private universities and 61 private polytechnics licensed to operate, with straight calendars. Yet, the FG still approve new Federal ones with States establishing more, in spite of incessant Industrial disharmony.
With the approval of the President, the National University Commission, NUC is the licensing-agent of the Federal Government for Universities, while the National Board for Technical Education, NBTE is that of the Polytechnics/Monotechnics and colleges of Agriculture.
Colleges of Education is being licensed and regulated by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE). As at last count, they are 177, awarding National Certification in Education, NCE in Nigeria. There are 84 being owned by private organisations and individuals.
