Some of you may already have heard, but let me introduce a remarkable new discovery from Greenland;
#Nektognathus evasmithae, a new species that helps restore the rightful place of nectocaridids in the tree of life: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…Image (2/20) Nektognathus was discovered in Sirius Passet, North Greenland. This site also hosts freaks like the filter-feeding radiodont Tamisiocaris, the huge lobopodian Pambdelurion, and Timorebestia, a giant cousin of Nektognathus.

(Almost) all pycnodonts from Haqel, Lebanon.
The early Cretaceous had a most diverse pycnodont genus and some of them were extremely weird.

Megaphragma(parasitic wasp), Alycomesis(mite), Decapauropus(pauropod myriapod), Stygotanulus and Tantulacus(tantulocarid crustacean), Dicopomorpha(fairyfly), and Scydosella(feather-winged beetle). and Paramecium & Amoeba. Representives of the single-celled organisms. Megaphragma mymaripenne is a parasitic wasp with feather-like wings. M.mymaripenne has one of the smallest nervous systems of any insect, consisting of just 7,400 neurons. But there is a smaller wasp, the male Dicopomorpha echmepterygis reaching 130μm.
