Black Hebrew Israelites (BHI) are a Black separatist group that rejects widely accepted definitions of Judaism, believing themselves to be the ‘true Jews’ with an ancient Hebrew identity.
BHI use Biblical narratives to portray modern European Jews as usurpers of this identity, referring to them as ‘Edomites, or descendants of ‘Esau’ and biblical enemies of Jacob (Israel).
