We’ve seen questions from patients wondering about where the Pain Management Best Practices report stands on opioids: We encourage you to check out the section starting on page 69, which reviews the CDC guidelines.
We think the report takes a positive approach to the issue, pointing out that most misuse is related to illicit RXes, that some patients may benefit from long-term opioid use, and that the risk/benefits must be assessed on a case-by-case basis. hhs.gov/sites/default/…
