Five years since #demonetization. I was reporting the fallout from Uttar Pradesh. I met truck drivers who hadn’t eaten in days, retailers who were operating on goodwill alone and small businesses that had no choice but to shut down. Mr. Modi has still not said what it was all for
The economies of small towns in UP, like the Cermamic industry in Khurja or the bangle makers of Firozabad, suffered a body blow. I know many who have not been able to get back up.

Heard that former politician Jagmohan passed away. His legacy will always be marred. He was accused of committing crimes against humanity in Kashmir in the early 90s, the worst phase for Kashmir till now. (1)
He was also in charge of a “beautification” drive in Old Delhi, which led to the disproportionate displacement of Muslims in Old Delhi. (2)

I agree with this. Arvind Kejriwal has a lot he needs to answer for, but here he is the aggrieved party.
The BJP is destroying the federal structure bit by bit so that Modi runs India by fiat. Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala - they will all be targeted.
Having said that, you have every right to call him out if you’re Kashmiri. That’s fair game.

I was in Western UP after last year's crackdown against anti CAA protests and here's a pattern I noticed -
Yogi's ecosystem targeted prosperous, upwardly mobile Muslims.

Shops belonging to Muslim business owners in Muzaffarnagar's Meenakshi Chowk were sealed without due process - some of those shop owners weren't even in town during the protests.
Hindu owned shops in Shiv Chowk were left untouched.
