Take a towel and roll each side in towards the center with an inch gap, like this. It should look like above, but not as neat. Sew it together so it sticks like that. put it under the doors, close it, and add water to the towel from the inside until it's entirely moist. The physical barrier will stop the sand and dust, the moisture will stop smoke/fumes.
