The desire for instant gratification is crippling some people. Never underestimate the calculated decisions taken by abadala. And never look to your neighbour as a timeline for liberation and freedom.

Here are some of the most common misunderstandings around healing. 1. Using money and material possession as a measure of success.

Too many people expect instant wealth after healing not understanding that our goal posts and those of abadala - are different. We make a big mistake of thinking that they are the same.

You couples/marriages that I am encountering are presenting more often esigodlweni. And the biggest manifestation of the problems are regarding intimacy /having children / impotency or low sex drive.

Today I will speak on the spirituality behind this.

A thread. The message we constantly preach at Umsamo is to know thyself nemimoya that you are carrying. Isiguni or is isindawe. In the event you and your partner are the same - you will clash and this needs to be simply cleansed and you will be fine.

If opposing, you are fine.

Impande is simply herb/branch. Umuthi is anything that has been elevated and specified for you by ithongo.

If impande is not wanted by ithongo then it Will not become umuthi. This is the key.

A thread. This reliance and focus on impande is incorrect. What I am seeing herbs are being dished out and given out to people without educating them on the necessary precursor - Umsamo that is clean.

Remember there are two types of Umsamo - yourself and the physical one at home.

Birth certificates, surnames, paternity, mixed families and Ilobolo. We are complicating something very simple. Let’s not pick and choose when to apply isintu and ancestral principles.

A Thread. Case 1. Child conceived in Full wedlock where Ilobolo has been paid, izibizo done and the traditional ceremony of welcoming umama at home.

The child will always take the fathers surname. Even in divorce , surname can and will only ever be the fathers.

Marriage is about amathongo (ancestral spirits) as much as it is about the minds and bodies coming together. Joining a family at birth is the same principle when leaving a family in marriage.

Let’s understand the ancestral principles behind marriage.

A Thread Marriage is about joining two families together. Each family gains a new son or daughter. There are three fundamental steps in the process

1. Ilobolo
2. Ibizo
3. Umgcagco.

4 is special - this is when two spiritually gifted individuals are brought together in a special ritual

My book Umsamo Nezibi zezala, the first chapter speaks of the home. It is the responsibility of both partners in marriage to protect the home and most importantly keep it pure.

Purity of home and Umsamo is a fundamental foundation for the children of the household. See when one does not keep the home and Umsamo pure, the marriage is at risk and so are the children. Uncleansed infidelity can cause the home to be impure. Committing murder, raping someone even spending jail time - all of these bring impurities into the home.

Thokoza.

Abortion and miscarriages have spiritual and ancestral implications which one needs to be aware of. Life is all about choices. I am not here to say what is or is not morally correct but simply to shed light on the consequences of whatever decision one takes. In African culture, when sperm meets egg and a zygote has formed. Ithongo resides with both man and woman involved in the creation. So when there is loss whether it be by choice or accidental - cleansing must take place for both parties.

Part 2 of the thread on Ukuthwasa nobunyanga - The process. A lot of people inappropriately use the word “isithunywa”. The Idlozi which has possessed you is called ‘isithunywa’. The Isithunywa is also governed by the owners of ‘ubunyanga’ and ‘isigodlo’ or ‘umsamo’.

African ‘Ukuthwasa’ and healing (ukwelapha) has been misconstrued and misunderstood for many years not only from the Western researchers but also from the people of Africa.

It is an intricate and complex process with various spirits, teachings and forms of healing.

A THREAD Ukuthwasa has never been given the respect and treated with the diginity it deserves. This stems from the narrative around it. It is not evil, demonic, problematic or an inconvenience in ones life.

Rather it is a call to greatness. Which cannot go unanswered.

A spiritual healer’s purpose is to educate, enlighten and liberate one ancestral spirit. This is such that one can reach full expression and connectivity with their ancestors.

A healer has done a good job when he is no longer needed by the family.

A thread. In the olden days consulting with Inyanga or isigoma was something rarely done. Only when an emergency or an adverse event occurs did they we consult.

This is because isintu , customs and traditions were kept and practiced in the family.

Blessed Sunday morning to you all. Today I’d like to take the time to speak on Ilobolo. It’s a great example of how lack of knowledge and understanding can result inappropriate application of our custom. In the olden days most abamnumzane wanted their daughters to be taken by families with many cattle so that he can get more, and also as a guarantee that his daughter won’t starve emzini. So during those days people use to charge whatever number of cattle for ilobolo.
