Amelia Boynton Robinson helped to organize the 1965 Selma march. She also became the first Black woman to run for Congress in Alabama! Although her candidacy was unsuccessful it helped to highlight and bring awareness to voter suppression. #BlackHistoryMonth #BlackHerstory Jane Bolin, a graduate of Wellesley College became the first Black woman to graduate from Yale School of Law. In 1939, she became the first Black woman to become a judge. She ruled on family court cases.
