‘The Balikpapan Seven’

are key activists of the non-violent wing of the movement, detained on treason charges over West Papua Uprising.

In violation of criminal procedure law, they were transferred from West Papua to Borneo on the basis of “security reasons” in Oct 19 Buchtar Tabuni

head of the ‘National Parliament of West Papua’, arrested without a warrant on 9/9/19.

The arrest involved the use of helicopter, the electricity being cut off, troops storming his property and shooting through his doors.

This is his third time being imprisoned.
