Critical pro wrestling fan. Calling out hypocrites, tribalist fans, and wrestling "journalists" since 2021. Not a Dave Meltzer puppet.

I’m really not understanding the controversy around WWE sending The Street Profits, Cody Rhodes, and Tiffany Stratton to the US Army’s 250th Anniversary.

It wasn’t a MAGA rally. It was a milestone event for the army. You realize any sitting President would attend, right? (1/3) Obama would’ve been there in 2015, just as Bush would’ve been in 2005, Clinton in 1995, Reagan in 1985, etc.

If literally anybody else were the current President and made an appearance, nobody would care because they’d realize this wasn’t a political rally. (2/4)

I think it's time to admit that the Adam Cole feud did irreparable damage to MJF's career.

Remember when he was on track to be wrestling's next big superstar after the Punk feud? It seems like forever ago now. Where did that guy go? I haven't seen him in at least 2 years. (1/4) When he came back from injury, he confirmed he was staying put in AEW and immediately left TV again to go film Happy Gilmore 2. I definitely lost interest.

We all knew he wasn't going to WWE, but it seems the Bidding War of 2024 was the only thing keeping him relevant. (2/4)

Jey Uso deserves a proper title run? Let’s be honest, he’s lucky he spent 51 days as a world champion. I think that was more than generous.

That’s 51 more days than Roddy Piper, Scott Hall, Owen Hart, Rick Rude, Mr. Perfect, and Ted DiBiase spent as world champion in WWE. (1/4) He was a career tag team wrestler for nearly 15 years. When he went solo, it only exposed him for how limited he was in the ring.

Watch back his match against Jimmy from WM40. Identical twin brothers and no chemistry as opponents. That’s not even mentioning his weak spear. (2/4)

When it was founded in 2019, AEW detailed its original vision and how it was going to do things differently from WWE. Within 5 short years, AEW has slowly gone back on these promises one-by-one.

Let's take a look at what was promised, and they actually delivered.

A thread🧵 Image What was promised: A ranking system where wins and losses matter.

What AEW delivered: The ranking system was quietly done away with in August 2022, supposedly at the request of CM Punk. They were brought back in January 2022, only to be discontinued again 3 months later. Image

Isn’f it odd how AEW doesn’t have enough TV time for everyone they have under contract, but Tony Khan can always find TV time for guys from other promotions like CMLL and NJPW?

Rob Van Dam never struggles to get on TV, but some of his own guys do. (1/4) I’m not against working relationships or featuring unsigned talent, but only if there’s room and it makes sense.

When it comes to TV time, your contracted wrestlers should always be top priority. You won’t find a spot for everybody when you have 200 people under contract. (2/4)
