When most people think of poverty, it's broadly defined as a lack of money. Multidimensional poverty, though, describes the affliction of multiple disadvantages – poor health or malnutrition, a lack of clean water or electricity, poor quality of work or little schooling. In 2019, @statsbots together with @UNDP_Botswana & the Poverty Eradication Unit at the @BWPresidency began an exercise to track Botswana’s poverty progress using the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) as a complementary measure to the monetary ones.
