Some sad news: 4 years & 236 episodes later, @JillWineBanks & I bid farewell.

With my graduation & new job starting soon, we are shelving our podcast. Working with Jill, having intergenerational convos with amazing guests, & interacting with listeners & viewers was a dream. /1 This project began when I was a senior in high school. I reached out to Jill via Twitter (formerly) & together, we started this intergenerational podcast—to engage all generations in politics & civics. It was, hands-down, the best decision I’ve ever made.

This is HUGE. Democrat Marilyn Lands just flipped a Republican state House district in Alabama BLUE by 25 points by running on abortion & IVF. Even Alabama is sick and tired of Republican extremism & is electing Democrats up & down the ballot. This is amazing news. Thank you to @JMilesColeman for putting this graphic together. In 2022, Marilyn Land lost bg more than 5 points. Tonight she won by 25. This is a massive sea change & one that should show everyone Republicans are finding out & will continue to find out in 2024.

Let me get this straight: The Supreme Court just granted Texas the ability to enforce draconian state immigration law, but refused to grant states the ability to enforce their own election laws. No wonder the Court has a legitimacy problem. This Court is so messed up & broken. Justice Sotomayor said it best in her blistering dissent: “The court gives a green light to a law that will upend the longstanding federal-state balance of power and sow chaos." Whew! No better feeling than just finishing my last final exam of undergrad. Three papers & two in-person exams all wrapped. Now, I’m officially a college graduate & it’s surreal. Thank you to @UCLA for the best 4 years of my life. Now, it’s time to go win an election! Well, actually, now I need some rest first. But, if you’ll indulge me, I want to take a moment thank a few things. The first is LA — as a kid from Chicago, LA was totally different. But I fell in love. The people, the weather, the food, the outdoors. It felt like a dream.

This is BIG: 15 young voter organizations just endorsed President Biden & VP Harris. AND the Biden campaign just announced the creation of Students for Biden. Gen Z is fired up to re-elect President Biden & the campaign is mobilizing Gen Z like never before. This is how we win. .@VotersTomorrow — which I’m lucky to be apart of — is among the 15 young voters organizations that endorsed President Biden. Why? Quite simply because there has never been an administration that has shown up & delivered for young people like this one. They’ve earned it.

To recap: Over the span of just a few hours, Donald Trump confused Joe Biden for Barack Obama, couldn't pronounce the country "Venezuela," and literally short-circuited mid-sentence. Trump is old & unwell & it's time the media start giving it the attention it deserves. That's just touching the iceberg. It'd be great if every media outlet compiled all his misstatements and gaffes during his rallies and showed them to viewers. It's not just Joe Biden. BREAKING: E. Jean Carroll just filed her opposition to Donald Trump’s attempt to stay the order requiring him to pay $83.3 million and doesn’t mince words, saying that “there is absolutely no basis in law for Trump’s requested relief.” E Jean Carroll will get her money. Para 1: “The reasoning Trump offers in seeking this relief boils down to nothing more than ‘trust me.’ He doesn't offer any information about his finances or…his assets. He doesn't specify what % of his assets are liquid or explain how Carroll might go about collecting.” 🔥

So, I just finished watching President Biden’s surprise appearance on Seth Meyers last night & all I have to say is he’s damn charming, funny, sharp, & quick-witted, & I’m so freaking glad he is our president & leader. He didn’t miss a beat. THAT is the Joe Biden we know & love. If you didn’t watch, I highly recommend you watch. There were both light hearted and serious moments. Regardless, he was sharp & answered questions better than people 60 years younger than him could’ve.

BREAKING: Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg just announced they are seeking a gag order against Donald Trump in the hush money & election interference criminal case, citing his history of "inflammatory remarks" & his threatening posts against prosecutors & DA Bragg. This is good. First page of the order holds no punches: "To protect the integrity of this criminal proceeding and avoid prejudice in the jury, the People respectfully request that this Court issue a narrowly tailored order restricting certain prejudicial extrajudicial statements by defendant"

If President Biden said a quarter of the things that Donald Trump said yesterday during his rally, the media would be doing non-stop rolling coverage. I haven’t seen a single news outlet call out Donald Trump for his blatant racism last night. Our media is failing us so badly. Exhibit A: “These lights are so bright in my eyes I can't see people... I can only see the Black ones. I can't see any white ones. That's how far I've come. That's a long way isn't it?”

WOW. Lawrence O'Donnell just dismantled every claim about President Biden being too old & how he should drop out in under 30 minutes, emphasizing all Biden has done & calling out the media. That was brilliant. I hope everyone watches & the media takes notes. Thank you, Lawrence. That was a tour de force. Every point was so compelling & simply destroyed the press's wishes for President Biden to drop out of the race. Bottom line: President Biden is running a remarkably strong campaign, has a tremendous record, & is the *best* person to beat Trump.

BREAKING: DOJ, the day after Alexei Navalny died, just announced that they have transferred nearly $500,000 in forfeited Russian funds to Estonia to help Ukraine fight Russian aggression — the first time this has ever been done. This is really big & good news. Reminder: Donald Trump still faces an IRS investigation that could cost him up to $100 MILLION, 2 more federal-level cases, & another state-level case in Georgia. That’s IN ADDITION to being a proven sexual abuser, insurrectionist, & fraudster. Let that sink in. Trump is a loser. Last night on @WagnerTonight, the great Susan Craig did a great job reminding everyone that if you thought the $430+ million Trump has to pay is the end, it’s not. He could end up having to pay more than half a billion dollars. This man is a big loser.

Watching President Biden talk about Navalny's death now reminds me why I don't give a damn about his age. Unlike Trump, who hasn't said anything, President Biden is forcefully calling out Vladimir Putin & Russia for this. President Biden is showing us real leadership. Thank you. Other countries are watching what we are doing right now. Trump is mute. President Biden is exhibiting true leadership right now and doing what presidents should do. This is strong & I'm grateful for President Biden's leadership right now.

Holy sh*t: The Biden campaign just released a new ad that brutally slams Donald Trump for being the only one who promises to “walk away from NATO” & gives “Putin the green light to attack America’s allies.” THIS is how it’s done. Such a good & powerful ad. Glad the White House is calling out the media. Page ONE: “Instead, many outlets have reported striking inaccuracies that misrepresent the report's conclusion about the President, and reporters…have asked questions that include false content/based on false premises…I am compelled to illustrate the facts & urge caution”

NEW: President Biden just released a statement about Republicans impeaching Sec. Mayorkas & holds no punches, saying, "History will not look kindly on House Republicans" & calls it "unconstitutional partisanship" & "petty political games." Exactly right. This is all politics. PART ONE: "History will not look kindly on House Republicans for their blatant act of unconstitutional partisanship that has targeted an honorable public servant in order to play petty political games." Republicans don't know who they're messing with here. They will find out.

Love how President Biden just forced “Speaker” Johnson’s hand: “I urge Speaker Johnson to bring it to the floor immediately. Immediately. There's no question that a Senate bill put on the floor in the House of Representatives would pass. It would pass. The Speaker knows that.” Biden continues: “For Republicans in Congress who think they can oppose funding for Ukraine and not be held accountable, history is watching. History is watching. History is watching. Failure to support Ukraine at this critical moment will never be forgotten.” Exactly.

I’m 21. I don’t give a damn about Joe Biden’s age because he has delivered for Gen Z more than any president in history. THAT is why my peers & I will vote for him again. We see his accomplishments over his age.
