THREAD 🧵Today @SadiqKhan launched his VAWG Strategy for London. Whilst WE are pleased to see support for Valerie's Law, this was a huge missed opportunity to make London a Sanctuary City so that no woman fleeing violence is turned away - including migrant women. 1/5
The London Mayor has the power to implement a Sanctuary City policy guaranteeing support & services for migrant women prevented from accessing public funds. This could override the govt's hostile environment policies that trap some migrant women in abusive situations. 2/5

Patrick Grady MP has received only 2 days suspension for sexually harassing a staffer who was 19.

This is victim blaming 101. It has no place in our society, least of all in the institution responsible for making our laws.
Those investigating were more concerned with the reputation of a sexual harasser and the Commons itself than with any real accountability. 2/6
