First of all, “as a heart surgeon” may as well be “as a fry cook,” given that cardiothoracic surgery has zilch to do with pregnancy. There is no medical basis for his statement, which is a complete reversal from his previous public statements about Roe. I would vastly prefer a fry cook become the next Senator from Pennsylvania over Mehmet Oz.

The cruelty necessary to support what the GOP wants to do with its Supreme Court majority is beyond my ability to comprehend. I do not believe anyone truly cares more about a zygote than an actual human woman's life (and if you do, there is something gravely wrong with your moral compass). It is entirely about destroying women's autonomy, and I will never understand it.

If you truly believe a closeted Republican member of Congress would allow himself to be filmed having actual gay sex, please see me about some amazing shares in a diamond mine that are selling fast! Got into an argument on here with a self-satisfied jerk who flatly refused to believe his homophobic digs at Madison Cawthorn were actually homophobic (they were), and he is going to be even more wrongly convinced of his rightness now, and it’s galling as hell.

That was at the comparatively liberal (!) Southern Baptist church we switched to when I was a teenager. The church I went to for most of my childhood thought the whole idea of Christian rock music was anathema, since it was Satan’s music to begin with.

I thought the vaccine conspiracy theories were the stupidest thing I could imagine, and then I saw the ones about Pfizer sponsoring the Oscars and bribing Will Smith to make a scene because they have a new alopecia treatment coming out. Hey, y’all. If you could send good vibes that the loss of taste and smell I woke up with is short-lived, I’d appreciate it. I’m taking it a little hard. It seems that smell isn’t entirely gone, just weirdly diminished. If I stick my nose into the jar of garam masala, I can still smell it, for example, but coffee doesn’t taste like anything. Still, I’m heartened that it’s not completely absent.
