Some of the known localities and the origin of their names:

1) Malleshwaram - It is renamed after the famous Kadu Malleshwara temple in this area built by Venkoji, brother of Chatrapati Shivaji in 17th century. 2) Basavanagudi - this suburb got its name from the sacred ‘Bull Temple’ that has a monolith structure of ‘Nandi’, the bull. In local language, Basava means bull and gudi means ‘temple’ and thus the name Basavanagudi.

The Dept of Labour is headed by the Minister (Shri Venkataramanappa). The Secretary assists the minister in executing his directions & directions from the Cabinet, as long as they are within the parameters of the law and are implemented as per rules & norms. (1/n) The secretariat has a joint secretary, a deputy secretary, an undersecretary and dozen clerical staff, who assist the Secretary. The overall goal of the Dept is the welfare of the labours in the state. We do that in two ways. (2/n)

As part of #UrbanDevelopment #BLR, I wanted to ask something that's been on my mind for long.

Is it right to be able to buy medicines without prescriptions? Many often buy medication without prescriptions which may prove fatal in the longer run.

Do we need stricter regulations? In olden days, the doctor themselves used to have a small section in their clinics to dole out medicines.

It ensured only the right /necessary amounts and dosage of the medicines were consumed by the patients.

Hello Bengaluru. Today I'm going to discuss about another pertinent topic.

I work as a technology and business consultant in Singapore & from time to time I also work on Management consulting projects.

On one of those occasions, I decided to work for a school project. This organization was a public-private entity. They have schools all over Singapore and almost 12k students study in those centres.

The students were predominantly middle class. 80% of them were Chinese and Malays. 15% Indians. 5% others.

Amigos! One of my keen interests is apps and chrome extensions. Some of these you are gonna love deeply forever I promise! Let us start with two of my personal favourites that have saved me some real money. These are basically price trackers for online products.

1/n
The first extension is called "Keepa - Amazon Price Tracker".
Go to keepa.com and download the extension for your browser.

Select the product on Amazon and historical price graph shows up! You know if you are purchasing at the right price!

1. Pataka - Means “Flag”. Pataka is done with all fingers held straight like the stop sign. There should be no gap between the fingers. The only difference is that your thumb should be bent a little bit and all the fingers are to be held tight. It is used to depicting clouds, forests, denial, taking oath, silence etc. and during the start of the Adavu. In Kathak, Pataka is the first hand gesture which is taught. #Arana2019 #Kathak #Mudra
